When I know the new entry level NVIDIA GPU RTX 3050 is released on 27th January and I'm worrying about how I will be able to buy one on launch day. Can't wait to crank up my benchmarks and give it a good test. It's got a smaller number of cores than I'd like but at least it has 8gb GDDR6 and is in a 128bit bus unlike the AMD 6500XT which was so disappointing. |

Generally nerds are passionate about academia, geeks have huge amounts of knowledge about special areas of interest, which are usually a bit obscure

There is definitely crossover between geek and nerd. I think the geek is more into applying nerdy knowledge into a niche that they are personally interested in... like gaming, tech, astonomy, robotics, 3d printing etc. A pure nerd is more about the theory/concepts/equation of pure math or physics or likewise. |

The 3050 hashrates are low and ether is gone to shit so im hoping there isn't so much incentive. I'd snap up a 2060 super if I could get one for any kind of sensible money. Got my eldest a ryzen 5700g for Xmas and doing the APU thing is only JUST good enough for basic 1080p. |
