"Condoms "
During the second world war, condoms or French letters as they were known then, were made of rubber and were significantly thicker than is the case today.
They were not necessarily sold, but most were washed after use and reused on several occasions.
One of the main problems for military and civilian medical personnel was the vast increase in STIs, which were then known as VD, or venereal diseases.
Condoms were so valuable and scarce at times, that they may on occasions have been sold, after use!

Soft furnishings, particularly settees or mattresses, principally because of the problem of importing bed bugs into one's home.
Once in, they are almost impossible to eradicate, and very costly to do so.
In hotels, especially in very high class hotels abroad bed bugs are a very serious problem, and can be difficult to detect.
Chains use special dogs, that sniff out bed bugs. |

Condoms were invented in the Middle East, they used goats skin. And yes they reused it. Washed. Let it dry. |

"Toilet roll
It consistently brings a smile to my face when I see that some toilet roll manufacturers produce, using recycled product. Ugh!"
I think most toilet roll brands are recycled materials. However they obviously do not use recycled toilet paper |

It would be with extreme caution and reluctance that I would buy any of the consumer products thare easily stolen and are the found for sale online:
High end mobile phones
Laptops, notebooks, etc
Bicycles
Expensive bags
Years ago, I bought a pre-owned bicycle that I discovered had been in a bad smash; it looked OK, superficially, but was actually a death trap. It had to be scrapped on safety grounds, mine! |
