What topics can you talk about, for 30 min, with absolutely no prep?
What are you really passionate about?
I have a few but one of my favourites is how do you make moving to a new area or country work for you

When I lived in America I moved 16 times in 6yrs. I'm very experienced in how to do that. I'm in no way passionate about it mind.
I could talk for hours about my favourite music and have a 'tiny bed concert' playlist set up with my most recent new loves.
Music is one of the ways I show affection, I only share some of my most favourites with certain people. |

There are many topics I could talk about for extended periods, but being able to talk about subjects interestingly, entertainingly and without engaging in the irritating condescending and patronising style now known as mansplaining is a moot point.
That said, my favourite topics would be:
Dogs, which I love
Self-sufficiency/gardening
Resilience and adversity
Justice systems and law
Gratitude and contentment
Self-education
Etc.
The absolute key to a successful interaction, is to accurately determine the current state of knowledge of the person(s) whom one is engaging with, and adjust accordingly, on that continuum.
For example, I recently spoke to an Indian student about researching the subject she was studyingly, and rapidly realised that although she knew her specialism, she had no idea how to find out about her specialism in this jurisdiction.
I arranged for her to speak to an expert, who would immediately be able to adjust to her language and level of expertise, and compiled a comprehensive package of information to consult before she would go to speak to the expert.
Finally, I could talk for hours about the personal satisfaction to be gained from assisting those less fortunate, experienced or knowledgeable than me!

Movies.
I can talk about movies for hours.
When I was younger me and my brother had a long discussion about the power loader in the movie Aliens and it's practicality in real life.
I have a few pet peeve movie companies that I could rage at for hours.
Transformers, the 80's show mainly but I guess I could talk a bit about the movies.

I think i might need half an hour of your time. Tried to start watching it over christmas but just didnt have 3hours plus to watch. Its not a film you can stop and start so maybe a bit of background would be good |
