Should they swallow their pride and close schools early for the Christmas break

They would do it in a heartbeat, main obstacle is parents working. Workers must work at all costs!

Hard to find a balance. No matter what call made there will be people unhappy

I think the minister has said they are NOT mandating an early closure

They wiped out the nativity play while back so that probably leaves them with a selection of watching Christmas movies to kill time

Most parents working wouldn't be delighted with that idea. I don't think it would make much of a difference now anyway.

So we might get the hepa filters into schools for next winter....

Short notice for making alternative plans around work & kids suddenly off school earlier than planned

Hepa filters been pushed back on schools themselves to get the wheels in motion. Seems being a teacher has moved up to a whole new level

Yeah I know, the school staff has to apply for funds for hepa filters and source the filters themselves. It actually might be winter 23/24 before we see them filters in....

Well not all school rooms need these filters n every classroom in the country is unique all with diff types of ventilation so school principal's really are the only ones that can call it about their own individual school.

Daughter tells me in her classroom windows open & door going into room open. Her table between them and a right draught sweeps through at times making it cold.

Parents know best when come to making that decision. If cases are high in school prevention is best. Especially coming up to Christmas if going to be visiting elderly relatives
