So I'm new and I'd love to go to meets and meet people and stuff, but everyone's wary of someone without verification (which is fair). But to get verified you need to meet people, and to meet people you need to be verified. Am I missing something or is it like the employment problem. You need experience to be employed, you need to be employed to get experience. |

Yes. People are very wary on here. It’s very hard to meet people without being verified. I’ve done everything I can so far to try and meet for a social coffee etc through messaging and getting involved on the forums but either A. I’m not available because of commitments or B. I’m not suitable for some people. I’d prefer a one to one coffee meet first or web chat before attending any events to get some confidence. At this stage I think I’m going to give up on ever getting an official verification  |

It can be easier for some and harder for others to get verifications on fab. I was on here about 18 months before I received my first. I’m not one for rushing into things and this was a whole new world for me so I took my time to get my head around it.
Going to that first social, it was a group coffee morning, was one of the hardest things I’ve done but totally worth it. It’s one of the good things about fab, it pushes you outside your comfort zone.
And looking back I’m glad I took my time.
It’s all about the journey not the destination so enjoy each interaction for what it is |

I hear you but I’ve been on and off here for a few years and it’s not happening yet so I’m definitely doing something wrong. I’ve tried the naughty messages, the polite messages and still no joy. As I said I want a coffee meet maybe first to get the confidence. I do enjoy the craic on the forums though |

Yea this. I don’t midnight meeting for a veri if someone is politie and friendly but my time is precious and I’m sick of it being wasted. |

Seen lots post over the last few years about not been able to get verified but lots kept making excuse after excuse the way it is everyone has to put in the effort if you want to meet someone for a coffee and a chat and distance would not bother me went the far side of belfast for a coffee meet and a good chat . A lot of people offered to meet people to verify them and they didnt bother to go .i think as a newbie it was 3 months before got first verification  |

Don't put too much stock into the impact verifications will have on your experience and success on Fab. They'll have minimal impact so don't feel you need to go chasing after one. |

Mcguyver1974, I’ve seen you a lot talking about not getting any coffee offers. Open yourself up to meeting a guy for coffee, then you’ll have you veri and it will make things a lot easier. At the moment, they can’t even write to you to offer.
I met many guys at a Dublin social, and a few other socials I went to, got my veris and it has made a big difference to my interactions on the site. |

The more you complain about how difficult it is to get verified the longer you are going to have to wait.
Very few people are willing to meet anyone who's only aim is getting a green tick on their profile.
Verifications don't open doors but constantly whinging about not being able to get one definitely closes a lot of doors.
It's your overall interaction on the site including in the forums that gives people the best impression of who you are. |

Everyone got their first veri from someone who was willing to take a chance (unless it was from someone they knew outside of fab). People take the chance on unverified people all the time but they generally pick carefully.
Put effort into your profile and your interactions with people. Give them a reason to want to meet you that goes beyond your desperate need to have a green tick.
As an aside, anyone else wondering how the first person got their first veri if you have to be verified to verify someone else |

Totally agree. Put more effort into who you are chatting to or go join the social coffees that i see on here. Flip i managed to get a verification from chatting in the chatrooms. Try a different approach. The more you complain the less likely anyone will meet you. |

The reason I have the filter is because of the amount of messages from fellas wanting to suck me off etc. I absolutely have no issue meeting another man to get verified. In fact I might just reverse the filter and see how I go. |

i'm feeling the same about the journey above the destination. even the craic in the forums is mighty. and i do want to push myself out of my comfort zone, but in baby steps cause i'm not new to the life but i'm new to the scene. |

this is a load off of my mind cause a tick doesn't tell anybody about who you are, likes, dislikes, craic or being craictose intolerant and the fact that it's not all about the veri is really comforting. |

thanks a million for the advice. i've been starting to do that and i'm really enjoying going through the forums and occasionally saying hello/ dropping my two cents into pots.
i'm trying to think of something funny for the first person to get verified but all i can think of is god. "Joe is nice, a little weird but that's how i made him". |

yeah i'm going to avoid whining about it. I was curious more than anything. I've seen a few posts about "Why doesn't anyone do X for me" or along those lines and i really want to steer clear of that kind of posting. |
