"Printing machines - from bringing words to the masses in the 14th century, to 3d printed prosthetic limbs. Printing is revolutionary genuis "
Not to mention writing systems allowing information, laws, contracts, knowledge all to be kept and passed on. The first empires directly followed the first writing systems. |

A convincing argument. Our ability to keep the knowledge of previous generations and transfer this to subsequent generations is absolutely critical to our progress. |

The development of clear glass which gave us glasses, microscopes, telescopes allowing us to see the world and the universe in a while different way.
Scientific tools like test tubes and beakers and petri-dishes amongst others which helped us study and develop antibiotics and vaccines. And gave birth to modern science
And even today with fibre optic cables helping to world communicate nearly instantly |

It's not that long ago that planning your family by contraception was a criminal offence. Just to please th Catholic Church and Mc Quaid. |

"Antibiotics"
Or the alternative system in the eastern bloc countries (the former Soviet Union) where bacteriophages are commonly used.
Phage technology is a much more targeted system than broad spectrum antibiotics, the efficacy of which are rapidly deteriorating through misuse, overprescription to human patients and widespread overuse in intensive agricultural farming, especially in Brazil, China, USA, etc. |

"Electric drill, electric screwdriver, matches,
Future inventions we need..
Electricity that flows without wire.
Water to flow without pipes. "
I think you'll find water does flow without pipes, and with Mother Nature pissed off with us, it'll be flowing your way soon enough |

It is somewhat artificial to isolate one specific invention; humankind's inate ability to incrementally build upon an individual's previous ingenuity has brought us to where we are tody, both good and adverse.
Climate change, principally caused by industrialisation is the actualised inevitability of mankind's inventiveness. |
