The only meaning Thanksgiving has for me is that the following day is Black Friday. Roll on the sales

Why would I, an Irish person with no connection to America apart from maybe my great grandfather running off there after finding out my great grandmother was pregnant celebrate an American holiday that celebrates English people taking land from the native American people?

Is the thanks given to an imaginary being, who is supposed to have done all the work?

I'd like to think that all the thanks should be given to the farmers and workers of the world who have really done all the work worthy of thanks.

Though maybe I'm just a dreamer.

How about Christmas? Or Easter, do you celebrate the Celestial Guru Monkey Je-Sus and the water turning into wine........

Any reason to celebrate in these dark months is good no??

Christian, Phillistine, Hebrew, or Durty W. A. S. P land robbing murders

Sure don't they have a day for mothers with cards and all too................

And, unremarkably in many instances it is a fake.

Frankly, I avoid it completely; it is a means of artificially stimulating demand; there are some 'bargains', but often prices have been increased, only then to be reduced for BF.

As long as I get a few Santa bargains, they can celebrate all they want
