Agree to a coffee meet today , agreed 12 noon, texted the person at 11.30 to check still OK for coffee. Half hr roadtrip to get a message at 12.20 can't make it , can we take a raincheck?

Is it just me that gets messed about cause it really feels like it today?

Not one the ladies but that's just inconsiderate and rude by any measure. Would take the hit and cut contact personally. Some people get anxiety and that but if they don't cancel at least an hour in advance I wouldn't be making exceptions for them.

Sorry this happened to you DD thats really crap I wouldn't be giving them a raincheck tho when they messaged 20 minutes after you were due to meet that's just rude if they knew they couldn't make it they should have messaged you earlier so that you didn't waste your time traveling for a no show.

I've been lucky that it hasn't happened to me yet but I have cancelled meets when I think the person isn't going to show.If they go quiet and don't reply to a message the night before asking if it's still going ahead then I will cancel it. And so far the two times it has happened it has taken them a day or two to even reply to that usually in fairness to ask can we meet as they had forgotten.

There is no excuse that will ever sit right for ghosting someone. Yes people get nervous and everyone has the right to cancel a meet but manners say you do it before the other person has wasted their time travelling to meet.

I've had this happen for actual meets and socials with few minutes notice or when I'm on the way. Amazing the amount of single guys with Granny's passing away suddenly. I don't give second chances not unless there's legitimate reason. Our time is precious and should be respected.

ah...the plight of single males. because of the amount of us on here. we are viewed as disposable and immediately replaceable. not to be considered to get consideration.but hey. personally i don't give a shit. but OP. people like that usually end up being bitter and asking why there are no genuine guys on here, down the road....you can read it in their profiles. i just laugh n move along

Every tradesman I talk to atm trying to help fix up a house says yes to a job then a few days later their granny or aunt is sick. My mechanic is the same, he's always at a wake! Some lads must have no imagination at all and can't just tell the truth

DD - the ladies have already given their advice & from a lads point of view I agree. If you say you are gonna meet up then you have to follow through.

Cancelling beforehand is different and you could take what they say on board but after is not cool

Some fine lads going for sale on casuals thread, go get a wee swap at cheer up your Sunday

Tell him to go fuck himself and block.

I don’t leave the house if I haven’t got confirmation first that they’re coming. If they don’t show up then, there’s not much else you can do but no one gets a second chance in that situation.

If they cancel in advance and ask for a raincheck, I leave it up to them to make the arrangements.

I'm sorry that this has happened you today and maybe on other occasions. It has happened me a couple of times and it fairly brought the nervous excitement to an all time low and downer. It really is irritating and really ruins it for the rest of us. As offputting as its been I'm sure you probably got a lucky escape in the end. A person like that doesn't deserve the time to be spent over a coffee chatting.

Rather makes a mockery of verifications, even when the composers of the veris themselves were also checked out beforehand to see they were halfways genuine profiles.

Hard to maintain patience for fems/cpls who carry on like that.

Hard, and bloody expensive

I can appreciate sometimes things crop up and you can’t make it. But let the other person know before, not after.

It’s the not letting the other person know that is the real pisser

I've read a lot of responses to this saying block and move on. Yea, I would tend to agree with that but be sure you're doing it for the right reason. To me, if he (or she) cancels but give to some advance warning and seems genuinely sorry then the benefit of the doubt comes into play. I like to not be too judgemental in these situations because shit happens and it could be me one day. If they simply say nothing and don't show up or ignore messages and say nothing until after the appointed time, well, as in this case, the block is well deserved.

Didn't text before the time. I had to travel a half hour , we were to meet at 12. I texted at 11.30 before I headed off and he messaged at 12.20 with a reason , he had been online early sun morning, had plenty of opportunity on the Saturday, you have spoken to me and you know I will give people the benefit of the doubt and i don't use the block button often. It just would have been nice to have cancelled before I travelled.

It sucks.

But we all know it happens it's a of the site experience for alot of people unfortunately.

It's best not to give it too much headrace or let it affect you your mood

I find the more time I dwell on smaller things the more they can affect my mood.

My advice would be forget the thread, delete the profile pic and move in to something happier.

Sorry that happened you DD. It's an absolutely shite situation to be in and I've been in it several times. I'd feel guilty as hell if I'd cancelled late on without a genuine reason. There's a hell of a lot of timewasters on here unfortunately.

Hope the cake and cuppa were daycent at least...

"Agree to a coffee meet today , agreed 12 noon, texted the person at 11.30 to check still OK for coffee. Half hr roadtrip to get a message at 12.20 can't make it , can we take a raincheck?

Is it just me that gets messed about cause it really feels like it today? "

im afraid I wouldn't have left the house until I had a definite yes from the other party even if it ment change times for the delay in replying.

If no firm plans are confirmed then assume its not happening until told otherwise

Had this happen to me this morning arranged for the meet last thurday. For 12ish i turned up around 11.45 i like to be fairly punctual i believe it shows the character of a person. Waited till 12.30 and noting no show up no sorry not even a terrible excuse. I could have worked with a terrible excuse but just to be ignored is the height of ignorance i think

Awful manners, as newbies on here we understand that someone might get overwhelmed or want to back out, but knowingly letting someone get dressed up and leave their house, only to cancel on them 20 minutes before the meet let alone AFTER the agreed meet up time is really horrible.

"I've read a lot of responses to this saying block and move on. If they simply say nothing and don't show up or ignore messages and say nothing until after the appointed time, well, as in this case, the block is well deserved."

you told us you block People for not replying to you!! so this response doesn't make sense

she should of course ever meet this fella again! he did a shitty shitty thing..

OP sorry that happened to you but unfortunately it happens a lot and it's just plain rude.At least give some advance notice if you are going to cancel and stop waisting people's precious time.

I really don't think the people that do this realise how small the community is and that people talk.

Beija's last comment is so so true and those inclined to let people down should take note.

Sorry it happened to you DD but next weekend is guaranteed to make up for it, bring it on

It doesn't give all men a bad name here it just makes it harder to agree to meet someone , we'll in my opinion it does

Sorry to hear this happened today DD and no it's nothing new, some guys are doing it all the time cancelling again and again at the last minute and then expecting you to be there when they click their fingers.
