Already asked about it.. Didn't get much further than your choice Mr McNamara
I ask the site and those with views on same topic.. this lifestyle calls for certification of immunity In times like such..I'm just wondering towards opinion based on same circumstance .

The Pfizer vaccine most certainly needs two doses for efficacy.
I'd kinda agree that having the virus supercedes it in terms of immunity, but you will get broader coverage from receiving the vaccine
All in all, you've nothing to lose by getting it |

But b and t cells have already engaged the virus. Memory of such encounter should be recognised by the immune system..
Anyway.. I'll keep on taught of jab,. Ty |

I’d recommend you go for it.
As you’ve had a first dose and a bout of the virus, you’re extremely unlikely to have an adverse reaction plus you’ll top up your immunity and likely not be a burden on the health service if you are unlucky enough to catch it again
Balance it up and make an informed decision based on objective fact not anecdotal evidence |

I’d go for it and get the 2nd jab. Wait until you are the required number of weeks over Covid then get the jab. With having Covid and being fully vaccinated you’ll have great protection |

A friend of mine has had covid twice, works in health care , has had her two jabs and is getting her booster soon. She has like a lot of our health care workers has seen the effects of it.
I think you should get the 2nd jab as it improves the efficacy ( think that's what it's called).
But end of day you need to decide got you and yours , |

"If it were me I'd have the second jab. Zero side effects. Simple, easy, and free. "
You're gas, you tell them not to ask a sex website, then you give false information that there are "no side effects", I suppose that board set up by the government to deal with claims for side effects, and all the side effects reported and that people are having are just imaginary!!
To the OP, if you already had covid then you are fine for at least 6 months, some say 9 months, according to many sources, as I am o e pert. This is why you are allowed show cert of recovery to get into places and to travel instead of a vaccine cert. There is also a chance you could have side effects from the jab and you could be sick again, just like my mother was for 3 months after receiving her second dose.
As your doctor said though, it's your choice. |

I was referring to my own jabs and my experience. Zero side effects for me. Zero side effects for anyone in my family who arr all double jabbed. I went straight back to work both times. I know there are rare exceptions to this, but most people have no issues at all. |

But you can see how someone looking for information could assume from your comment that you were saying that there are no side effects from the jab, right? So maybe construct your sentences a little better when offering advice to people.
And this is exactly why your first comment was all that was needed to be said! |

Well going by statistics, with 90% jabbed and highest numbers we have ever had with covid, and the fact that you cant even buy an antigen test at the moment because everywhere is sold out. And the fact that holland is 85% jabbed and going back into a semi lockdown with their highest number of cases at 16,000 in 24 hrs, I think it is safe to say that the vaccine will not suppress anything as it is spreading now more than ever, after a majority getting their vaccine. Think it is time to think of other solutions. |

I’m not getting involved in a slanging match
Vaccines reduce hospitalisations, reduce severe illness, reduce death and reduce transmission.
It doesn’t eliminate them
All this talk about case numbers are going up so the vaccine is shite/pointless is missing the point entirely |

No one said it was "shite/pointiess", it's just not stopping the transmission as people assumed and were told. And it clearly has not reduced transmissions with an all time high. |

The vaccines were designed before the delta variants emerged. The were WAY more effective in reducing transmission with the original virus. Noone ever claimed they would stop transmission even back then. They reduce transmission... and they still do. Just not as well as with the original virus. There will be new vaccines that specifically target new variants in time. |

Yes cases are at an all time high but that’s with everything back to more or less “normal”, but without vaccines, cases, hospitalisations, deaths would be far far higher
So they’re working, this scepticism isn’t helping |

Do you think people get the same flu jab every year?
Would you believe it if I told you that it gets tweaked depending on flu mutations
Crazy thought to change something for the better instead of just keeping everything as is right? Not sure I want to live in a world were that happens |

Sure. If it passes all the normal placebo controlled double blind trials. It will probably end up like the flu jab where there is one made each year that targets the likely yearly variant. |

Lol yes they did, sure even the guy from the HSE who called me about close contact a few months ago tried to tell me that vaccinated people cannot spread covid, I was gob smacked that a person so badly informed was allowed to ring people and advise them on the subject.
I'd also like to know where you got the information that "They were WAY more effective in reducing transmission with the original virus", considering when the delta variant only hit Ireland in April, and at that stage it was only 65 years and older and older who had the vaccine? A huge majority of the population had not even been vaccinated at that stage so I would love to see where you got that information? |

That was pretty stupid of that person to say that to you. Thats not their public position and never has been.
No vaccine has ever been 100% effective at stopping virus transmission. The manufacturers never claimed that. There have been several trials and it's been demonstrated over and over again that delta is more easily transmitted among vaccinated people than the original virus. |

Your not immune now you can catch it again usually not until a few months after having it initially. Maybe the reason you didn't get a bad reaction to covid itself was because you had the first jab.
All the advice we were given through work was the take the 2nd jab and the booster when it was offered even for those who had covid you do have to wait for a certain length of time between covid and the jab though.
But at the end of the day you have to make the decision for yourself no one can tell you what to do. |

If it was me personally I wouldn't, look at the largest study out of Israel to make up your own minded, you got over covid so you antibodies are stronger than what the vaccine provides, 8-26 times depending on the person, I'd get an antibodies test and you will know if your antibodies are really high, but you got to make up your own mind. Research first. Do what's best from you, |

Lots of different advice above op but you have to take your own decisions based on what you believe is right for you. Ask yourself am l safer if l take it, are the people close to me safer if I take it and are the people that l encounter as l go about my day safer if I take it.
As you have taken the 1st jab I’m thinking (rightly or wrongly) that your not anti vaccine so maybe you should be following hse/gov.ie guidelines.
Don’t think you should be “asking the audience” here but defo phone a friend but at the end of the day we all should do what we are comfortable with not just for our own personal well being but also with the well being of others |

I'm wondering if i should get my second jab as iv already had covid post 1jab (Pfizer)
I am now over covid with little impact on my health or wellbeing. Just a dribble from the nose.
You are not immune, even fully vaccinated, you can still carry and pass on covid , and yes you can even catch it yourself, heres the thing tho, if your fully vacvinated, covid wont kill you snd you most likely wont end up in hosp, tho some have
I am now immune..Do I still proceed with jab..? as itd be in my eyes,.redundant. "

"You should ave had second jab mths ago .my 12yr old is done a mth now .we need to suppress this immediately
