Working with hotels for my job, frankly they don’t care when you want the room…. They just want your money…. And to be able to plan if they can either a)sell the room again (not during covid) b) staff required to clean rooms, c) make sure the room is not being destroyed.
It’s all about how you engage with the hotel, as other poster stated, some hotels “allow” for day use, which means you can arrive at 9am…. Leave when you like prior to 5…. The hotel would have an “expectation” that this room may not require full housekeeping…. But as we know, once you’re in, well….. just be nice to housekeeping, they work damn hard.
Paying cash is likely going to be more of a headache, and a “walk-in” reservation paying cash will always raise the eye of the management.
Best bet, book a brand hotel, Clayton, jury’s, radisson, on wherever, etc…. On their website, if you want to meet and use the room at 7am, book the night before….arrange to collect the keys, or let them know to “advance checkin” so you can arrive early morning.
You want to start playing at 10am, tricky timing…. Then you are in the day use, and call them with the reason you need a workspace, home renos, whatever,…. You want to get the room any other time outside of that, just a standard transaction.
Good luck…. Just avoid the cash/wakin scenario… unless you want to stand at the desk for 10ams while the receptionist tries to figure out what to do, and the manager gives you a good eyeballing to try and figure out what you are up to…. Which they know all too well. |
