Following on from a few chats yesterday its clear we all come for different things.
I keep coming back for the debates/arguments I really do enjoy them I like to hear other people's views on topics even if I disagree and will try to counter them (probably too often).
I also like the comedy moments that can happen on here, there have always been some very funny posters, although there are less that make me laugh atm but these things come in cycles.
It's also a great way to find new people to chat to in my expiriance.
So what brings you to the forum? |

Bit of everything tbh
The debate threads are good
The funny random threads can be brilliant, at times I've had to check myself when in a public setting because of them
But its also a great networking facility, the amount of fabbers I have had the pleasure to meet as a result of an interaction on a thread is surprising.
AND it helps out some of the fruit loops |

This has happened less for me since I've come back I'm not sure if it's just me or are there just less moments like that at present? |

Yep have to agree with you on most of that. That's more or less why I come on here too.
It interesting to see what others have to say and how they act on here. It can be a handy way to see people's personalities as well .
I've had a few well more than a few debates on here and that can be just as interesting to see others view points on things even if I may not always agree it's never taken personal as long as people don't start throwing jibes. Then they can just feck off
But I do find it a good way to see people I'd like to meet at some stage and just as handy to see those I would avoid as well.
It can also be a place to have a bit of craic and pass the time when sitting at home alone. |

To find the middle ground.
I've no interest in heavy debates regardless of the subject so I avoid those like the plague. I've no interest either in the list threads or kiss/fuck ones because it's usually just lip service.
Light hearted fun conversations are good and it gives me a better idea of people and personas and separates those I'm interested in chatting to from those that make me reach for the sanitiser every time they post.
It's a distraction more than an investment. |

What % of the posts here do you find appeals to that?
Has it gone a little bit to either extreme more so than previously? |

I enjoy must of the thread's on the forum page just not the one's that ye know are going to trun argumentative or nasty, they just don't appeal to me or the people that partisapate in them..
I interact more with people on here than through messages alone which has lead to meeting some amazing people where's through messages they could have slipped by.. |

A large percentage has become inane and completely lacking in originality.
The other extreme I've no idea as I've always avoided the debates. |

The people who can debate on here and keep on topic without getting personal is definitely a quality that stands out to me. Because its not as common as you would imagine I guess.
It's a line I probably cross too often when I'm in the flow of reading and replying. |

I have started to come here more for chats with women who have blocked people of my age from messaging , hoping that they might appreciate the lighter brighter sexier side of a slightly hic older man !!

I just dip in and out for a bit of light-hearted fun
I'm always up with the birds in the morning so I'll usually say good morning
It's a bit of distraction from the norm and I wouldn't take anything too seriously |

Mostly for the craic. But the forum's give a better idea of what a person is like. Quite a few have been kicked off my hotlist because of the way they are in the forum's and one or 2 added coz they brighten up my day |

Rage by the look of a lot of my posts
I’m trying to keep away from the posts that get my blood boiling, however I find it very hard to not reply to certain things, like people contradicting themselves just because they’re replying to a woman, or pure misinformation.
I enjoy some of the games (kiss/fuck/ride backwards/give your last rolo ones aside due to the lick arsing that goes on). It’s quite a creative community with regards to amusing threads and fair play to the people who put the effort in to create threads that are engaging and fun.
I’ve met some of my favourite fabbers through the forum so I think it’s great for finding people you may not otherwise have engaged with.
I do think that the forum has become a very strange place (and kind of boring) the last while. I’m not sure if some of the posts are for shock value or what but I do know that it comes in waves so I’m just waiting for it to pass. |

Probably similar enough to yourself Corklad!
Don't get into some of the more serious threads too much but they can be good reading.
Spread a bit of light advice around and try to see what others take on things are as understanding other people perspectives is always helpful imo, good or bad!
Mostly just on for bit of light hearted banter while trying to not be too sarcastic at times
And chats with some nice people on here

To have a bit of craic first and foremost
The threads that make me laugh out loud when reading them are my favourite especially when the subject goes off on a tangent to what the first post starts with
To get my personalty out there....I'm not great at writing dms so I've probably only sent a handful in my 2 years on here.
If I flip flop on certain subjects then I'm just talking out my arse which can be me in real life anyway
To get invites to meets and socials
To have sex |

I’m here for the company and the distraction. I usually spend my days working alone so it feels like there’s a gang of people around.
I mainly stick to the more lighthearted threads and don’t really get involved debating/ arguing threads.
Also I’ve found that I can be a great way of getting to know people and their personalities. |

Normally just a bit of craic and banter. I have enough seriousness and the like in my everyday life so all i want is some lighthearted relief which i have found has been less of late but hey ho such is life. I dont have much time any more owing to real life stuff so ive very much taken a step back and since its looking more and more likely that we will not be resuming meets for a very long time im less inclined to get involved and get to know new people. I have made some lovely friends because of the forums and they put up with my madness and quirks so its all good |

The forums seem to be the meeting grounds of the whole fab community, and I love the engagement.
I've engaged with so many great profiles here, and had plenty of fun.
Whether it be someone's views, interests or way of life, it's definitely worth a visit to the forums |

Yes mostly agree. Important to be careful with the debate threads as the syntax differences between written and spoken words mean some posts can come across as much more angry than if the same debate was had in a pub.
I also like the comedy moments that can happen on here, there have always been some very funny posters, although there are less that make me laugh atm but these things come in cycles.
I have a top 3 favourite posts in my head absolutely . Ones that have made me laugh hours later and ones I have shared . Can be a funny place alright .
It's also a great way to find new people to chat to in my experience
Absolutely . I have met people I would never have met without it.
Overall it’s a positive experience, although some days less so. Do like the quizzes and some threads have been very educational . Hopefully there is room for everyone unless the posts are really out of order . It’s a really useful way of knowing who is on your wavelength and who isn’t . I d like to think that once it’s clear that people aren’t that there is a civil way of co-existing .

The forum and its disparate threads is an excellent means of gauging the Zeitgeist of the lifestyle in Ireland; personalities, attitudes, preferences, trends, etc.
It facilitates cross-referencing to swinging on the continent and in the US, which are different; not wholly different, but subtly.
It enables one to build up a composite picture.

This is a very good question , as you get older you become less relevant here so it's a good way to see what others opinions are on some subjects that really do matter , I avoid the obviously crude and numpty self serving ones and occasionally drop a wee comment in myself sometimes slightly controversial to see if someone might bite |

Does anyone actually believe that though? I think it's more about expressing one's own opinion. If that changes someone's mind then do be it. It's not the objective though. Debate is an end in itself. |

I don't look at the forums that often. Sometimes some of the topics leave me asking myself are grown adults asking these questions & you tend to see the same people continually commenting. So for those reasons I only look occasionally |
