BRAVING

Following on from comments on a thread yesterday I just wanted to share about trust.

Look up Brene Brown Anatomy of Trust - BRAVING.

She breaks the whole concept down.

“Trust is choosing to make something important to you vulnerable to the actions of someone else”.

Distrust is “what I have shared with you that is important to me is not safe with you.”

Its a risk, and can feel oh so scary, but it has to be done to live a rich life

Absolutely, and being able to trust is really about trusting yourself, trusting your judgement, and trusting that no matter what happens, you will be ok.

Indeed, and a great arse as well although I wouldn't trust myself with it.

I'm very trusting, with an instinctive caution. Generally, if you've earned my trust, you have my trust until you do something to betray that trust. I've been dissapointed, occasionaly, but i like people, so tend to be open and trusting, and take people at face value.

Could you compartmentalise ? You might trust someone with a secret as they’re good at keeping them , and loyal . But not your emotions . They might be a bit thoughtless sometimes without malice but enough to cause hurt

Thats probably what DeNiro was talking about in Meet the Fockers - circles of trust

Wise words. I thought it quite sad that so many agreed with the blanket "trust no-one" advice. Mrs

There are people I have known all my life that I wouldn't trust with anything and others I have known in just the last few years that I would trust body and soul.

There are others who have chosen to share so much with me but yet I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them because what they shared wasn't theirs to share.

I would trust that anything I might share with them would be shared with others.

Rather than circles of trust I prefer trust bubbles because sometimes circles can overlap.
