No point in getting people out out to a site event to listen to miserable shite

Newry Down

The 1962 Frank Ifield hit record that has a particular significance for me is "I remember you", which will be bookended with "Stranger on the shore" by Acker Bilk, which was the theme tune for a wholly forgettable serial on BBC, starring Richard Vernon.

There is a balance I think , and might depend on the circumstances .

I went to a friend’s cremation 13 years ago . One of those literally nothing good about it events . The first song was appropriate , second one jolly and landed like a lead balloon .

dark side of the moon

I already have it cast in stone regards my own funeral i want “when the saints come marching in” played. A few of paul brands tracks dull the mood for me but in a good way, “sailing by Christopher cross slows me down enough to get lost in it. Other than than i like upbeat stuff

The Voyage would bring tears to a stone at a funeral

I like a good obituary too . Have heard some superb ones . There was one about a difficult relative which summarised why this person had to be ‘difficult’ and the challenges they faced and I saw them in a new light .

"I have heard "Always look on the bright side of life " in a crematorium "

You get 5 songs in a crematorium service.

Different rules Id imagine

In the one I unfortunately have to go to every now and then....its a queue in on one side while the doors open at the other side to let everyone out from the previous ceremony

Doors close and there's 15 mins before the cycle starts again

Max I've ever heard is 2 songs
