Brought my dad to his local tonight. His first time in it(been to others with family) since before lockdown. It was like nothing happened.
Though when he first walked in it was like Michael Jackson taking to the stage!! Greated like a hero.
It was amazing to watch!! |

Used to have an old fella as a customer. He was a ship's Captain on cruise ships. Really great old man, going by his stories he had one hell of a life. And not one regret, he loved life (and talking lol).
When he came into my business I would go outside for a chat while he had a smoke. There we'd be yarning away and he'd spot someone his age (80's) and say "fuck that I'm away, them oul lads talk a load of balls"
That always made me smile.
Still does.

Me niece. She was born during the first big lockdown so only getting to know her properly since things reopened. I usually leave a visit to her with a pain in my face from laughing and smiling.  |

It is til she left a note in my bag with a picture she drew of us both as a surprise for my birthday because I was away and the note did bring a tear to my eye with what it said |

When out of the blue your woman comes to you and gives you a kiss on the cheek lips what ever. Put tops is old people holding hands walking. Or a young person holding a door open for the next person. |

It was one best coffee meets I have had Still Chuckle at myself after I forgot wallet and lovely Thumper said its OK on me I went cool then Can I have the Extra Large Hot Chocolate with trimmings thanks she is paying |

A memory from fathers Day this year. I was putting my daughter to bed and just before she fell asleep after a long day at the beach in Donegal she reached out to hug me and said "dad your just the best dad ever and I love you very much"
Always makes me smile when I think of it. She lives with her mum and I see her weekends. Nice to know iv done something right in my life. |
