What surprised you most when you first joined fab (or other similar sites)?
I think for me it was how normal everything was, just regular people who enjoy sex. Not what the media would have you believe about swingers. |

I think for me its the amount of snowflakes and people who love to be offended by other people's words. To the point where they just moan and complain. Instead of constructively confronting their own lack of confidence, they shout, complain and try to make others look like they are the ones with problems. Other sites have less of these insecure types.  |

I guess mostly how many people are on here I don't think I expected to see so many on a swingers site I had never even thought of joining until a friend told me about fab.And how people react to being on here especially after a while. |

Probably how big the swinging scene is. Makes me curious to know has it been always the case. Has it been going on for decades. If it has become more popular then why? Maybe with the advent of technology and apps like this.. |

The amount of people calling others snowflakes 
Initially what surprised us most I think was the amount of people locally on the site. Especially the number of people on the same road as where I (K) live  |

Not so much when I joined fab as I went ages just skimming the surface
But the last few months what has surprised me is how unambitious I had been with my mid weeks when there was a possibility of spending them having a mind blowing time |

How quickly people jump to abuse when they dont get what they want. The first hour we joined i think we had 4 or 5 messages threatening us with all sorts because we didnt answer them back.
Then its how quick a seemingly innocent forum post can descend into complete and utter chaos

I was surprised by how much of what I was looking for changed. I'm not sure if that comes across right lol.
I joined thinking I was gonna be or wanted to be experiencing random one off meets with strangers but actually what I found is that wasn't the case nor was it actually what I wanted.
I found I made Alot of Fab friends and can spend hours chatting to them each evening. I literally sit laughing my face off some nights with the craic. I was surprised how much I enjoyed going to my first social and of course getting the Ride is always the icing on the cake too |

And the fact swinging was so big in Ireland, who would have thought! Not us. We started looking abroad until a friend told us about Room4more podcast… they mentioned Fab and the rest is history!

For me it was the amount of research tha Sydney University seems to do. Why were a uni on the other side of the world so interested in Irish sexual happenings?
Then I began exploring Fab and went to a M&G and met some absolutely delightful people, with an attitude to sex I hadn't experienced since I left London, many years previously.
I still can't figure out how it interests a university so far away but,as we say on Fab,each to their own |

I think what surprised me most initially was the number of fake profiles here that were very much interactive,I mean why bother your hole if meeting is really not gonna happen. |

same with us nothing like we imagined it being before we joined and how little we knew about sex when we thought we knew alot sexually before we started swinging |

I would second everything everyone has said...its interesting, awe inspiring, constantly teaching, helps us discover ourselves, makes us realise that an interest in sex is not a batching & we are notvalone on our feelings...& most of all its a community |

The depth and layers of Fab surprised me.
I thought it was a hook up site when I joined but its a whole other world of communities and a language that I didnt know.
Theres parts of it Ive heard of but never been, parts Ive explored and didnt like, new activities Id like to try and people Id like to meet.
Ive learnt a huge ammount more than I ever expected to. |
