I was never an advocate of cosmetic procedures, such as amateur Botox injections, silicon implants in breasts or buttocks, etc; but the photos of the former US supermodel, Linda Evangelists has confirmed the red flags. She is utterly unrecognisable, when compared with her heyday images in the media.
Is anyone else a cosmetic procedure sceptic? |

It's like anything else in life some people will do it to excess.
I can see how it can benefit some people's confidence so I'm not anti cosmetic surgery |

Renee zellwigger (spelling haha) was another one. Last time i seen a picture if her I had to really study it just to see a part of her in the new face she has. Shame she thought she had to change her looks so much |

Will probably get slatted for saying this but if someone defines there whole self worth on how they look to be they need to have a good look at themselves yes we all have things we want to change about ourselves me included but to me those imperfections make us the person we are yes we are all initially attracted to someone by how they look but remember looks fade a person's personality never does and at the end of the day that's what is more important |

I think, especially in the case of the rich and famous, the media has a lot to answer for...the less scrupulous outlets in the main. Take a look at The Inquirer's recent article on "The Best and Worst Beach Body's" as highlighted by the inimitable Tess Holliday on her Insta. It's fucking appalling.
In a world where people are publicly shamed for being too thin, too fat, too old, too wrinkly, too smooth, too grey, too hairy - hell even our vajayjays are fair game for a good oul slating - it's no wonder people get sucked in to trying to achieve something which will be considered "acceptable".
I think the focus so often in these cases is misplaced. Should we not focus our attention on body acceptance, body positivity, emotional wellbeing and - for those who choose cosmetic enhancement - ethical aestheticians who actually care about their patients |

Yes totally agree. There is also a certain void the rich and famous feel when they’re no longer on the perch , and perhaps plastic surgery prolongs their time in the limelight.

"The problem is that some people's wholes self worth is linked to their looks and time takes it toll. "
It's such a relief to have been born plain, I never have to worry about losing my looks.
Honestly, having had plenty of necessary surgery, I cannot fathom the idea of submitting my body to the risk and trauma of surgery purely for aesthetic purposes. |

Society now has such an expectation of perfection. It's amazing how some people who have so much still need more and are willing to risk it all.
I feel sorry for her but she knew (or should have known) the risks. Ultimately every operation has some level of risk and you can't look like you are 25 at 50 without doing things that are pretty unnatural to your body, and sometimes these things happen |

My eldest daughter has been waiting 2 years for reconstructive surgery.
She was initially told that because she was still in her 20s she wouldn't be offered the procedure on the NHS and she suffered badly with that news as she cannot afford to have it done privately.
Thanks to the hard work of her counsellor she has recently been told she will have the op and while it is for cosmetic purposes it will allow her to hold her head up high again and regain her confidence in public. |

Plastic surgery is very common now, it's not only the rich and famous, even the foot-folk can and does avail of it (see hot pics). The cheaper you get a procedure done the higher the risk of things going wrong or look sheit and unnatural. But even the most expensive isn't a guarantee for success, there's plenty of celebrities walking around looking like they got beaten up the night before.
Considering the massive industry it has become, the body positivity movement isn't gonna put a dent into it.
I'm not a fan of it at all, I'm very much on the line 'embrace what you have'. However there's good use of it though like in RB's daughters case. And the usual each on their own applies... |

Of course people are free to do what they want with their appearance. Own view though is that I've never met a woman with botox on her lips that I thought looked better than before the procedure... |

"Nicole kidman looks like a shop mannequin nowadays whereas when she was younger she was a really natural beauty "
I think this is part of the problem though...those in the public eye are almost not allowed to get old looking. Unless they're growing old and still conforming to an idealistic aesthetic, then they get humiliated and mocked by the trash media and compared to how they looked when they were younger. And if they try to fight the ageing process cosmetically, they get lambasted for that too. They're damned if they do and damned if they don't. I can't imagine what that constant pressure must feel like. The answer has to lie in societal change and less mercenary aestheticians |

I’ve no problem with people getting it done, but I think It can get to the point of addiction.
Some actresses and singers you would hardly recognise now, and it’s destroyed there natural beauty. Katie piped had reconstruction surgery done due to the acid thrown at her face years ago.
The amount of trolling she gets over it is terrible. |

Unfortunately poor cosmetic work is not like a bad haircut that grows out or outfit that can be changed. The people who have it done literally have to take a risk and then live with the consequences (for better or worse) every single day afterwards so maybe as a society, we should be more empathetic |

I suppose that focuses on the worst case scenario. Most procedures go ok but the risks are high alright |

I haven't studied her viage very carefully, but the one person who seems to have out well fro her cosmetic surgery is the singer, Cher, who must now be quite old; but certainly doesn't look it.
To return to my opening posting, I was truly stunned at the 'new' Linda Evangelista who at one time was the world's most attractive supermodel. |

"The most risky cosmetic surgery, and very popular is a BBL, brazilian butt lift. You can get it done in Turkish clinics, but no aftercare is offered, making it very risky. "
That's a bit of a pain in the....no need to finish it |
