Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher. In the book, a 6'5" fair haired hulking source of justice.

In the film a 5'9" dark haired midget narcissist..

Is he even 5'9" in real life

Read every Reacher book in sequence from the start and always had different ideas as to who could or should play him

It always changed to be honest and since Tom Cruise is probably the only actor that could get them made I didn't mind

Love them because they brought my favourite book to life. There are some parts I wish Jackson hadn’t left out/altered but I think he did a great job within the constraints of budget and time.

Gerard Butler seems like a good Reacher to me. Possibly Liam Neeson?

Are the Reacher books still going?

The first was a great read. But I thought they were pretty much rinse and repeat with less and less believable scenarios after about 3 books.

Josh Duhamel could pull off that role I think

When I started reading the Reacher books yrs ago I always had an actor called Larry Drake in my head to play him ...he was never a name that could get films made but the size of him seemed to match

Lee Child's brother has taken over writing them

David Baldacci writes a similar character..in fact I don't know how he got away with a blatant copy of Reacher

Am not a book reader tbh, l only read autobiographies of musicians and sport's personalities that interest me ...some are absolutely brilliant...others bland and disappointing.

Great books rarely translate into great films, as they're completely different art forms and what works well in one, won't necessarily translate to the other medium.

But, for my tuppence, I'll go with Barry Lyndon and The Shining, as they did something unexpected - I much prefer the films to the books

Tom Clancys sum of all fears was a terrible film. Chopped out parts of the book that would have made it better in my opinion. Changed the bad guys, changed key parts of the jack Ryan character and his role in the CIA. I love the jack Ryan books and was excited for this film but was such a let down.

I enjoyed the Harrison Ford ones and the hunt for red October with Alec Baldwin. I haven't watched the amazon series yet. Not sure I want to if I'm honest.

American physcho. Both were excellent. Christian Bale stole the show and was perfect for the role.

Ulysses and The Talented Mr. Ripley were great adaptations which both kept the spirit of the novels while not being afraid to deviate from source to suit film better.
