"Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher. In the book, a 6'5" fair haired hulking source of justice.
In the film a 5'9" dark haired midget narcissist.. "
I agree, I heard there was a second movie. I didnt bother going to see it. The books are great. I've two on the go at the moment. |

Is he even 5'9" in real life
Read every Reacher book in sequence from the start and always had different ideas as to who could or should play him
It always changed to be honest and since Tom Cruise is probably the only actor that could get them made I didn't mind |

"What did people who read lord of the Rings think of the movies "
Love them because they brought my favourite book to life. There are some parts I wish Jackson hadn’t left out/altered but I think he did a great job within the constraints of budget and time. |

"Didn't mind jack reacher films with cruise. Reading the books for years before the films and not really pushed on cruise mind ya"
Gerard Butler seems like a good Reacher to me. Possibly Liam Neeson? |

Are the Reacher books still going?
The first was a great read. But I thought they were pretty much rinse and repeat with less and less believable scenarios after about 3 books.
Josh Duhamel could pull off that role I think |

Loved them but again saw the film before reading the books which I think gives the films/TV series an advantage compared to doing it the other way round |

When I started reading the Reacher books yrs ago I always had an actor called Larry Drake in my head to play him ...he was never a name that could get films made but the size of him seemed to match |

Lee Child's brother has taken over writing them
David Baldacci writes a similar character..in fact I don't know how he got away with a blatant copy of Reacher |

"Always thought John Grisham books bad but good films. Stephen King good books but poor films.
In general"
Gerald's Game book by Stephen King gave me shivers...so did the movie but Salem's Lot book was mindblowing |

Am not a book reader tbh, l only read autobiographies of musicians and sport's personalities that interest me ...some are absolutely brilliant...others bland and disappointing. |

Great books rarely translate into great films, as they're completely different art forms and what works well in one, won't necessarily translate to the other medium.
But, for my tuppence, I'll go with Barry Lyndon and The Shining, as they did something unexpected - I much prefer the films to the books |

Tom Clancys sum of all fears was a terrible film. Chopped out parts of the book that would have made it better in my opinion. Changed the bad guys, changed key parts of the jack Ryan character and his role in the CIA. I love the jack Ryan books and was excited for this film but was such a let down. |

I enjoyed the Harrison Ford ones and the hunt for red October with Alec Baldwin. I haven't watched the amazon series yet. Not sure I want to if I'm honest. |
