Sligo to dublin, I've travelled to Belfast, travelled to westmeath. I drive 100km each way for work. I don't mind driving. I treat myself to a night away and make the most of it. For coffee I even travelled from cavan to mullingar yesterday afternoon and than back to sligo.

Belfast

I stopped travelling for one on one/couples meets as well as meeting anyone who wants to travel over - greater the distance - greater seem to be the expectation.

Especially when there's booked hotels involved.

I definitely don't want to have sex with anyone just because they've booked a hotel to stay over in Belfast and they have no other plans.

Would never travel more than 30mins or so for someone I didn't know. I wouldn't agree to someone else travelling much further either even if they said it was OK by them.

We would ALWAYS have a social first and it puts a burden of expectation on the whole thing.

Someone who I had met before and trusted is a different story.

Wel get messages from far and wide and they always say they will travel... but I just remind them that they would need to travel at least twice even in the best of circumstances as there would always be a social.

I guess it's easier for fems and couples as they generally don't have issues meeting so can usually choose from the local pool.

Thankfully never had a no-show. And if I arrange something, I turn up!

I have travelled one or one and a half hours specifically for just a coffee.

With regards to how far I'd go, it always depends on the vibe I'm getting. My gut instincts have never let me down yet .

It seems the internet just gives too much anonymity, which probably makes it easier to be less courteous in organising a social. So easy to ignore, block and move on. Seems a lot of people either lack common courtesy or just don't have the guts to say they can't meet or have changed their mind, or both.

Without wanting to offend anyone, being a foreigner, I do think it's an Irish thing - not wanting to be rude to your face, telling someone they're not for you etc.

That's life! Not everyone is going to like everyone or have chemistry. I personally always prefer the truth. Say it to my face! Say it by text, whatever. But say it, that way the subject can be closed and that person moved on from!

Speaking only for myself here... I'd much rather be told - no thanks, you're not for me rather than being ghosted or ignored.

I'm an adult; I don't sulk if someone isn't interested in me. That's life, so be it, but at least be somewhat courteous and mature.

As a trucker a drive all over the country which makes it very hard to organise a meet as I never know where I'm going to be one day to the next

Tankardstown

The norm is halfway if theres distance involved ,( over 90 mins ) depends on the meet and how you click , ive done kells to cork/ galway / waterford / sligo , sometimes its nice to have a night away and some good fun with it , always pre arranged except once where i went to wexford on pure spec, thankfully it worked out

I had a guy drive 3 hours from Dublin to meet me after 24hrs of epicly high level flirting. We just knew we had serious chemistry

It was surreal but very exciting!!

outside belfast x

I quite like the idea of a road trip if it was for an overnight stay or weekend away just to even meet up with friends I've met on fab! But for a first social I tend to always meet in and around belfast!
