I loved the Dali museum in Figueres. The best gigs I have been to are by the flaming lips who aren’t my favourite artists by a long way but put on a great show . Always try to catch a ballet or an opera at the GIAF |

My favourites are all very different...William Turner's use of light & colour and the way his art draws you right into the centre amazes me; Klimt for the intricacy in his use of pattern; and Caravaggio for the intensity and his ability to capture expressions, emotions and reactions (The Taking of Christ is so powerful).

I'm rather partial to Dali and Caspar David Friedrich.
When it comes to styles of art, it varies. I love minimalism and surrealism. Although, there are more traditional pieces that move me too.
As for other art forms, I will watch any type of film - I love the arthouse and experimental genres. However, my absolute favourite would be Kubrick, Kurosawa and Fellini. |

The Crawford in Cork have had some great exhibitions, and the Glucksman is always worth a visit.
One painting I want to see in the flesh is the Night Watch. |

Lucky enough to see it in Amsterdam as the museum square is handy to visit all 3 museums in one day |

I haven't, unbelievably, but like yourself I intend to take more opportunities in the future and that is very much on my hitlist. Art in general passed me by in my youth, then when I did discover it, young children meant I had very little time to get to galleries and museums. |

Hard to pick just the one, wouldn't mind a Picasso or a Rothko or a Kandinski or a Le Brocquy on my walls.
Also the pope wouldn't let me into that Sistine chapel last time I was in Rome. So I've yet so see the masterpiece of Michelangelo. |

It's not arthouse, but YouTube has tons of old MosFilm stuff.
I did manage to get a hold of Spetters too. |

If you're a fan of Van Gogh definitely watch the movie At Eternitys Gate. It's a masterpiece and it's like watching a painting come to life. |

I studied art history but for various reasons lost all interest in art nearly 40 years ago.
I wouldn't go to a gallery or museum just to Lok at the art but if I happen to been in one I can appreciate certain aspects of individual paintings or sculptures.
I don't have a favourite artist or work of art and sometimes a local contemporary artists work can be more intriguing than a lot of the classics. |

Not specifically an artist but Musee D’Orsay in Paris
It brings surrealism to life with all 19/20th century paintings
Not forgetting the Museum of Sex in Pigalle |

Was that the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam? Sorry but for me it bored the pants off me. Each to their own though
Thought the Rijksmuseum was much better but obviously that's multiple artists.
Personally I'd be a Salvador Dali, Caravaggio and H.R. Giger fan. Those ones fascinate me at times.
Would love to see Giger exhibition some time |
