Won't meet smokers

Just wanting to rant about not meeting smokers I don't really get it.we both smoke (clearly states on profile)we appreciate ppl don't want to meet smokers but why not?are smokers really that bad to non smokers?like after a fag it's quite easy to pop a mint or gum.so long as we aren't blowing stale smoke in your face or stinking like we've just licked an ashtray are we really that much of a social outcast?rant over phew... |

I’m a smoker, I have it on my profile and I’d spoken about it in my bio and I appreciate people having a preference and a choice and I respect that, but….
There is no options for smoking like there is for drinking, social, occasional etc, it’s just yes or no.
I’m not a big smoker, I wouldn’t like to think it defines me, I do it at the moment because I want to when I feel like it but it’s not something I need to do, but I realise saying I am is limiting my interaction with other people here, but I’m just being honest.
I could have said I’m a non smoker and then just don’t smoke if I’m meeting someone who won’t meet smokers, it wouldn’t bother me for the duration of a meet or in the time leading up to it.
Having said all that I realise now that I probably should do that, say I don’t smoke and just don’t if I have a meeting planned…… 
And then the plan falls into place, so many meets I hardly have a chance to smoke between them….. 
Come on people, help a lad out here, it’s a matter of health, give me the best reason ever to quit…. |

I'm a smoker but I do get it to an extent. I feel like throwing up on people who wear strong perfume like poison, opium, anything with vanilla and lots of other ones too. I don't rule people out for it though because if I did I'd be missing out on some amazing people and not just for play either. Each to their own though  |

A mint/gum doesn't help, not even a half bottle of Listerine is able to remove the traces of smoke smell/flavour. It's not about being picky, but some people can stand it, some not.
But it's just one small piece of personal hygiene. Non-smokers can make serious mistakes too. |

There is always plenty of Smokers here like myself that are more then happy to meet other Smokers. 
I do get why some don't like meeting Smokers and have missed out on some meets because of smoking. Wish I could give them up, at times. |

Neither gum nor mint/mouthwash can get rid of the taste and smell. I remember kissing a non-smoking girl in a threesome, and I could taste that the other guy was a smoker, just from the taste of her mouth.. and he had used a mouthwash before kissing her. |

Having been a smoker for years we both gave up about 3 years ago .we use to socially smoke when we went but with lockdown have completely given up . For me now the smell off a cigarette or a smoke makes me feel a bit sick . |

It's a preference more than anything. I can still smell smoke off someone's breath and taste it when I kiss them even if they have had a mint or washed their mouth out after having a cigarette .It's just not something I enjoy .It's not making anyone out to be an outcast I don't think anyhow . |

I agree. I am a smoker, and I have known some really smelly smokers! I'd like to think I don't reek, but I can only imagine to a non smoker that I probably do 
I'd prefer to meet a guy who smokes anyway. |

Genuinely kissed someone about a year ago that told me they were a non smoker.
My lips felt burned afterwards as they had had a cigarette and masked the smell
Im off them 18 yrs and can't stand the smell off my clothes and the other person

I used to hate kissing smokers it was yucky.
Then I became one 
Sorry its a turn off for some for sure and I get it.
Also serious smoking can cause receding gums which can contribute to poor mouth hygiene. |

No prob with smokers. Wouldn't want to be married to one but for a few hours as long as dental hygiene is good is ok.

I smoked for 20yrs, I have won’t meet smokers because of the smell and taste when kissing. Don’t know if I’m hyper sensitive to it now cause I did smoke!! I don’t mind if someone smokes after we’ve been together but defo not before it’s all I can taste even after mints or brushing teeth! |

At least your honest about it, we met a 'non smoker' for an outdoor coffee who showed up puffing on a cigarette! Instant no from then on for 2 reasons one he was a smoker and 2 he lied about it on his profile. |

I stopped smoking 17 years ago but I don't mind smokers. Personal hygiene is all that's important to me. It's the other person's choice if they smoke. If you don't like it don't meet. |

Live and let live I say. It is very much a non smoker's perogative not to meet smokers or vapours if that is their choice. Though I am a smoker I don't smell like a used ashtray, I don't have nicotined stained fingers or teeth and I make every effort to keep me free of smelling as if I have just smoked a cigarette. Let's just respect people's choices of what they will or will not accept without ridicule. |

This is honestly not a personal dig, but every smoker on earth thinks they don't smell like a smoker. Often they can't smell it themselves because they're used to it (and smoking damages your sense of smell). |

I used to be a smoker and thought I could hide it.
Quit smoking 1,5 years ago and I now see how non smokers do get put off smokers.
Personally smoking people don't bother me in a slightest, but it doesn't mean that smell of smoke is very much there no matter how much chewing gum or mints are being used.

I used to smoke and didn’t think it was a problem. It’s only when you stop, my dad had stopped smoking but started again recently he only has to walk past me and the smell is as strong and if he tries to have a crafty fag in the kitchen the smells lingers.
You can disguise as much as you want you can’t |

We have met O/P and they are a spotless and great smelling couple, people should worry more about smelly balls and fishy fannies than they do about people being smokers or not. |

Everyone has things they are fussy about. Personally in the past I've had people trying to hide the smell of smoke with chewing gum and sprays. I do not want to taste cigarettes when I kiss someone nor smell it off their clothes. I've tried giving smokers in the past a chance its not for me. |
