I'm hoping previous experience from an eclectic mix of people could provide both advise and humour. Any good or bad experiences to share from starting a new job, as I am on Monday?

Dublin

Started a new job once and I was sitting in a corner where nobody spoke to me for almost 3 weeks. I started to question if I showed up to the right place

Ask when are the Christmas holidays

Go for a long walk,a glass hammer,a tin of tartan paint or a sky hook as and when you're asked

Started a new job years ago. Second day at lunchtime I was sat alone in the canteen. A girl who started just that morning came in and like me the day before, I looking like a lost sheep.

I nodded to her and said "you can sit here, if you like"

When she sat down we started chatting. I was saying about how awkward it is starting a new job.

She asked, how long I'd worked there.

Lol one day
