Ok so I travelled abroad as we're allowed now. All well, DCC opens doors and so I got off the island. Attended a festival abroad two days ago, again DCC, ID and ticket opened door, next day back to the festival and my DCC turned out to be invalid, access denied, stood there like a donkey on a mountain, no way foward no way back, ticket, passport and DCC but door stayed closed. It made me think this is the future, everything relies on technology and if your QR code doesn't work, you're fucked! Will I ever get back to the green island? To my hill? Is Holohan controlling where you're going with your DCC and if you're enjoying yourself too much, your DCC goes void? Maybe the last bit should go on the conspiracy thread....

Anyone else yet any stories/problems with the DCC or the technology involved?

Btw I eventually smuggled myself back into the festival, don't ask how but a hunter spots an opportunity and won't let it pass by.

somewhere

I know one thing I did was to screenshot the QR code once it was loaded into my digital wallet ...otherwise you're depending on good internet access to find it

I had a printed version with me too, didn't work either. Ordered a new cert today via dcc hotline. If something like that happens at the airport, you're properly screwed.

Feck I need to test my code. Did you scan your code using the HSE covid scanner before leaving DH?

I did that with my one. Travelled abroad with it last week and no issues.

Lot easier than trying to mind the paper version.

Yup used the dcc checker tonight and came up as valid, so the fault was on the festivals system's side. they might get an moany email from me...

Folks, to leave Ireland for most countries, all you require is an antigen test which can be carried out at a few different clinics near Dublin airport.

Quick and cheap.

There’s no requirement to have received a vaccine or to have a DCC.

Alternatively, proof of having recovered from Covid is also sufficient.

You need a pcr test to get back into Ireland though.
