Does the truth come out when d*unk
Jump to: Newest in thread
Had a conversation with a mate she was concerned when her boyfriend had a few drinks in him he expressed he felt they were boring and she was a bit of an angry woman.
He is normally happy go lucky, I was tempted to tell her about fab to spice up their lives but obviously didn't as they are vanilla
Got me wondering does it take a few drinks for a guy before he says what's really on his mind.

In Vino Veritas.
That's a Latin expression used by Romans to say that "when d*unk you say the truth".
So... After thousands of years, the answer is: yes, d*unk people (men or women) say things why wouldn't say I'd not d*unk |

"There's an expression used the next day to explain something hurtful thats said...."it was the drink talking "
Always believed it to be true for both sexes "
I agree I also think drink gives people Dutch courage and if it doesn't suit the next day ahh it was only the drink |

What was she concerned about?
A) that he was right?
B) that she didn’t think he was right but was concerned that’s what he thought?
C) concerned about what he might be planning on doing about it? |

Drink in truth out. I have s0aid things d*unk that I would be too embarrassed to say sober and to be honest it feels great to have said them the next day. Sometimes I would be embarrassed or dreading meeting who I said it to but in the back of my mind relived I have said how I feel. So in short yes drink really brings out the truth |

From what I am aware of
She adores him she thought they (he was happy)
Now she seems worried he is bored with her
But she thought they enjoyed relaxing on the weekend s
They are in their 40s fairly new relationship

So she needs to talk to him and see what he thinks only them together can figure this out
Now if she asked how to go about spicing it up then ur in a perfect position to give a nudge towards fab |

Or just give her a strap on and let us know if she spiced it up enough |

Not necessarily. I've been d*unk and said nice things to people I don't like and been d*unk and said nasty things to people I do like (only ever happened once or twice) point is neither scenario was true.
How many times have you caught yourself or someone else talking complete bollocks when they are d*unk?
I also agree with the other poster who said you tend to exaggerate when d*unk too. |

I can’t completely agree with this, I’m absolutely convinced that my c*(k is defiantly bigger when I’m d*unk, don’t know why, I think it’s something to do with the barley or the hops or something….. |

This is so true, truth does come out but usually in a nasty way, and I personally hate this oh yeah sorry I was d*unk sure excuse after, like a get out of jail free card! Now to be fair used it myself in the past a few times so I suppose I can't complain too much.... |

Anyone who called me an "angry woman" would be very swiftly proved correct. I'm practically blind with second hand rage just reading that!!!
He must believe what he said on some level, drink doesn't make you completely delusional or insert thoughts into your brain.
I'm sad that it's causing her to feel insecure or not good enough - if he thinks she's boring and angry he's free to fuck off, like. I hope she finds someone who appreciates her as she is, and that he finds someone very chill but also somehow very exciting. |

I was apparently very adamant about a book on bananas that my daughter had to write, who thinks bananas are her nemesis, though I thought they were the ultimate subject for the book she was going to write.
Apparently I talked about this for 2hrs in the middle of the night.
Makes me scared to meet old FWB later this year, if I then talk about in my sleep to celibate wife!
Might give her the horn and she might want to reclaim me
Oh! Wait... |

Sorry, meant to say, after a few beverages.
So yes, often d*unk equals honesty but, it can also equally mean BS, as above.
This should all be taken with a pinch of salt though, as I've been drinking since 5pm but Master Sparkle will verify I'm capable even after all that |

But if she was angry, for her own sake, wouldn’t it be better if it was discussed to try to identify the source of the anger and help with it rather than her just telling everyone to fuck off for ever?
Or why he’s thinking that?
Try to fix things rather than just throwing them away? |

Why, what were you doing to Master Sparkle?….
And will this verification be published? "

Why does that worry you? |

From what you said “ he felt THEY were boring” and that she “thought THEY enjoyed relaxing on the weekend”
Considering the normal options of doing stuff over the last year has been limited, is it a case that relaxing of weekend just means they been too comfortable sitting in watching tv and drinking as a couple. Maybe he was talking about they needed to get out more i.e being more active outdoors or not seeing the same four walls etc, not necessarily there sex life. It’s seems like both sides are at fault but correct me if I’m wrong?

I was thinking this too, that maybe they had gotten into covid habits that need to be shook off a bit.
Fabbing may not be the answer in this case esp if its a relatively new relationship.
If she considers his comment re anger maybe its true and she needs to let it go a bit, and if its not true she could ask him where he's coming from with that comment.
Ah people talk unfiltered when d*unk, it can definitely be exagerration of truth. Im sure it will be grand. |

There are two in a relationship.. If something if boring then its not one of their fault, it's both. Being able to talk about a relationship and it's issues and discuss solutions calmly and without finger pointing is critically important. It's probably best done sober, but it depends on the personality. Either way these kind of issues are totally normal and nothing to worry about.
With regards swinging... I've always enjoyed the saying "turn swingers into friends, not friends into swingers'. There are a lot healthier things that they could be doing together than this.

Thanks guys it's great to hear other opinions who don't know them, I think as some people said covid has restricted alot of things, hopefully it's a blip and they will get back on track
Also as other person says I think I will leave them in the vanilla world for now |

I would agree very much so, an ex of mine when we were together i literally had no clue what she thought or how she felt until we used to be on a night out. Id be told everything that night....next day nothing again |

I don't drink and never have done but I've often been around people who have said and done things while under the influence that they put down to the drink talking.
Whether or not what they say is more truthful than anything they would say while sober depends on the person.
I've always been the designated driver so many tales have been told that make complete sense and confirm a lot of what I already knew about them just from my own experience with them.
There have been some who just talk rubbish when their tongues are loosened but in general it's mostly fairly accurate. |

Most people will say what they really feel when inhibitions are down due to alcohol. Your friend probably needs to have a good open conversation with her partner expressing her concerns about what he said (without being confrontational),e.g, saying she agrees they've become a bit boring, what would he suggest changing, and asking if there are aspects of her behaviour he's uncomfortable with. Sticking her head in the sand and pretending things are grand isn't a good idea IMO |

Well I had a guy on here message me and call me all sorts when he was d*unk and I wouldn’t give up my plans to see him last minute.
His nature came out and it was clear to me what he is really like.
Thank god he did that otherwise it might have taken quite a bit longer to see it.
Phew. |

That's not on. Nobody should be treating anyone that way, let alone the Leading Lady |
