The ultimate full Irish breakfast is sausage, rasher, eggs (soft fried for preference but scrambled are also acceptable), pudding (black, white or both) and mushrooms accompanied by tea and toast. No beans or hash browns for breakfast but if it was lunch I'd add the beans and chips |

Seriously folks... everyone knows ketchup is for burgers ONLY!!! Brown sauce is for full Irish! Its in the feckin constitution! Or at least it should be. OP,yes to the hash browns too...and the mushrooms.. and the beans!! |

With hash browns and with beans... As for the test.. Fried egg with a slightly runny yolk, superquinn sausages, smoked rashers and then get some buttered white bread and make up a little sambo full of a bit of everything. |

"No hash brown
But definitely potato bread
Not a fry without potato bread
I think you're in Ulster fry territory there
It’s still Irish "
True but I don't think you could say a full Irish has to have the potato bread but an Ulster fry is not an Ulster fry without it. |

"Yep, Boxty is full Irish.
Hash Browns make it American.
In all honesty, I'll eat either happily, as long as they're crispy "
If not for your location I'd say yer username was a shill for JDs in Ennis, which at least when I was working there did the best full Irish I've ever had. Three rashers, three sausages, two eggs, mushrooms, black and white pudding, tomatoes, beans, hash brown and all the toast and tea you could still fit in. Hard to stand up after but I'd not need to eat anything else all day even on a busy Saturday. |
