So going from an earlier thread it brought back memories of freebies
Obviously the pen from Irish transfusion.
My dad used to get a free pen from a stationery company hoping he would order them. I used to love them.
Than the freebies in cereal I can remember the bicycle reflectors
What else can people remember |

Remember those airfix magazines?
1st week, magazine is a quid with a large section of the airfix inside to reel you in.
Then every other week the magazine is like 10 quid with a tiny section inside. If you stuck with it until fully assembled it probably cost you 200 blips |

I remember our local creamery had tokens on their milk cartons and you could get a catalogue as well to pick what you want out of once you collected enough tokens. We got a soda-stream once and I recall getting a load of sleeping bags as well, of all things |

My dad's hobby is models
Because of the sterling rip off the magazines cost an absolute fortune
The last one he did was a ship....it cost €1300 so I refused to get them anymore for him and buy him complete kits online instead |

I'd imagine a few might remember the 1970 england world cup football team.
Silver ( coloured ) medals in an Esso Blue chart with one player on each medal
Guess what petrol station gave them out |

I won a Euro trekking trip at one of those during college, 3 month open ended free train and bus anywhere in Europe.
I travelled all over France, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands and Denmark. Stayed away for the full 3 months it was an eye opener |

Texaco?….
Some petrol stations gave out free drinking glasses at one stage, can’t remember which one.
Kellogg’s gave watches with tokens you could collect. |

When my sister was around 11 she decided to start preparing for her first period and ordered and reordered free sanitary products, she had a huge stash built up by the time the big day arrived |

The blood donation clinics are a gold mine for free stuff. Soft drinks, sweets, crisps, biscuits, pens, pencils, fridge magnets and best of all, keyring torches! Literally the coolest and handiest things ever. One pint of blood for all of the above is a very fair trade. |

I remember when the blood transfusion service also gave a free glass of guinness - donated by guinness so it was their premium stout. |

I signed up for a Credit card in 1st year in college, because you got a free 16Mb USB stick.
I never used it, and didn't think of the €70 stamp duty charged annually, and the fees on not paying it.
Found out I owed €500 quid by the time I finished college |
