Dublin

Hey there fab.. just a post on being in the moment and mindfulness if that is the right term to describe it

Am away at the moment and found myself with some glorious alone time in the hotel bar (alone time being a rarity in recent years)

Anyway I'm no whisky conosiour by any means but said I'd dabble

Got the drinks menu and spent a decent amount on a few whiskies

It was nice. Really nice. I tried to smell each glass. Taste each sup and kind of savour the taste

I found that when I did I was nearly totally present (I get that's a contradiction) I could see the flicker of the candle on my table, the specific words in an overheard convo and so on

It made me reminisce about a one night stand that I had (though I hate that term)

It was in Dublin City centra and was totally random and unexpected. I can still hear the rain beating off the window and the sirens and lights flaring though the slat blinds of the apartment

Though under the influence at the time, the night was so vivid I'll remember it forever.

Anyway the point of this post if there is one is that do you ever get that almost viscious feeling of being alive and present, in the moment

I often hear and read of what it's meant to be but with the general madness and busyness of life it's hard to attain

BUT the few moments when you can pull back and just be are the real real deal imo

Anyone agree or get where I'm coming from??

Note... im post few whiskeys writing this

Dunboyne

Out on patio on summer nights, after everyone is gone to bed and it's almost complete silence, looking at the fire or up at the stars. Usually after BBQ and beers but yes, that 15-30mins alone is very "present".

Then I open Fab and perv

I try & bring it into my everyday life & try to use all of my senses using prompts like 5 things I can see, 4 I can smell, 3 I can touch, 2 I can taste & 1 I can hear. Its a beautiful thing when you can get there.

Sitting on my doorstep in the sun having an early morning coffee is my place for quiet contemplation.
