Expert hiccuper here 
Depends on the type…sometimes holding your breath for as long as you can works. I find swallowing while holding my breath can be effective.
Sips of water help.
Kinda forcing a hiccup can sometimes reset your diaphragm as well.
And sometimes I need my friend who is a teacher to tell me I’m being ridiculous and ruining everyone’s fun with my hiccups makes me stop every time lol |

Holding my breath for as long as I possibly can usually works for me, methods for achieving this are a personal decision…. |
