Woman's work

Question for couples :

Chores are a pain in a hole.

Full stop.

What chores do you do around your house and what does your other half?

Do you think the work is split evenly?

I usually do the cooking, my other half does the dishes and cleans the kitchen.

I do all laundry, my other half does all the floors.

I do all grocery shopping, he takes out all the bins.

I clean the bathroom, he cleans kids bedrooms.

I organise all the cupboards and he keeps the garage in check.

Personally I think our chores are split quite evenly and we both are doing what we don't mind doing

Oh and reason I put "woman's work" in a title is because when I was growing up my mum was doing all of those things and I know many traditional women who do all of those things above with very little help.

Good to see things shifting out of that standard

With the hours I work and spend travelling daily Jay does the bulk of the work. He'll get the kids, ensure the dinners cooked, their fed, cleanings done then when I'm off I pick up the chores. We're a team so it's not one person's stuff to deal with it's both of our chores.

We solve this problem by each having our own house

Mr does more than me as he works nights so is at home during the day. I'm very lucky. I do all the cooking etc at weekends and on my days off

I do the shopping, cooking, I'm crap at cleaning.. actually I just can't be arsed...lol.. I just do what i have to to keep it acceptable.. life is too short.. lol, I do the DIY and pretty much all of it..Mac earns the bank while I went back to college & try to start a business. He doesa kitchen tidy in the morning & the fire. But to be fair, he works long & hard & can fend for himself when the need arises & never questions or criticises when I've done feck all but play with myself all day because of all of you lot..

As a single parent I have done most things by myself but I have definitely taught my son how to do his share around the house.
