Id imagine that the figures for ICU are not increasing as fast as the people catching it are
Hopefully the large amount of responsible people who have taken the vaccine to benefit us all is working |

Cases on the rise is a bad indicator of course.. but I believe the number of hospitalisations are still low and ICU cases much lower again. I wouldn't think a knee jerk lockdown is inevitable as long as very few are experiencing serious illness.

I think people need to remember the vaccine doesn’t stop u getting covid, just supposedly stops u being very sick or dying. So the numbers rising wouldn’t concern me as long as the death rates and hospitalization rates stay low |

Unfortunately some countries that have opened up are not putting back restrictions, Spain and Holland, we seem to be lagging behind everyone and still in the same set of restrictions since Christmas except for the non essential retail back open |

This is not going to go away anytime soon, the vaccines are helping and that’s why the hospitals and icu are not overwhelmed I can’t see lockdown happening again the economy and most importantly mental health would seriously take another knock.

And you can stay in hotels, dine out doors, go to the gym etc....
We are far from the most restricted and far from the worst death rates. Its not all been perfect and alot of contradictory rules/actions but this narrative of lagging behind the rest of the world is rubbish to be honest |

I get its been a long slog and seeing our nearest neighbours being almost back to normal makes it harder... but to be honest I think the UK government are playing to the masses more than doing the sensible thing. There is probably a better balance somewhere between our governments approach and theirs but I personally would rather be on the side of caution |

The reality is that no matter what Govt does it will never satisfy everyone.. such situations lets opposition parties make hay.
Sadly opposition criticise but are never quite able to put forward a detailed acceptable alternative.
These viruses will be with us permanently in the same way as 'flu virus. Each year our drug manufacturers will be creating new drugs to combat last years viruses.
We just have to trust the medics and get used to living with it.
Restrictions will ease when Govt realises this inevitability |

There is no correlation between
Covid case numbers and ovid hospitalisations or covid deaths. PCR Testing is a fraud, just ask Kary. Restrictions will be lifted when the technology is available to make them permanent. It's it's the way.
Hospitalisations and deaths will increase in Sept / Oct like every other year so you can expect lockdown but probably only local lockdowns. If people think the covid pass is the route back to normality, they could not be more wrong. Were being played, the researchers warned you. Fire at will |

Judging by some of the posts I've seen from people we are friendly with in Australia that seems to be the case. |

Yup I'm expecting another lockdown after the summer season...They spoke in terms of colour code a few weeks ago in the RTE news & they said Red was inevitable, that to me translates to a lockdown is enevitable |

Numbers going up exponentially (unlike hospitalisations) and yet the plan is to open indoor dining/drinking on the 26th. So looks like the Govt are being pragmatic and correctly reacting only to hospitalisation/ICU figures |

"Amazing every time inside dining and bars are supposed to open covid numbers go up just a few days before there about too open "
Yea, it's amazing that once things open up and people interact more that there is then an increase in the number of people infected by an airborne virus. Clearly a conspiracy to ensure indoor dining stays closed. |

The crux of this issue is that the vaccination rollout in (southern) Ireland has been too slow; but has been limited by the supply of vaccines.
The rollout north of the border has been much faster, and from my personal experience is faultlessly organised. |

It's inevitable that if number's rise hospitalizations will rise too. It might not be at the same level as previously but if it's let get to 10,000 cases a day again it's unavoidable that the health care system will be under serious pressure again. just imagine if everybody took the new Zealand or Australia approach in March last year. The fact they never fully got to grips with international travel is a fucking disgrace. U would imagine the first thing you would do is close the bloody ports and airports or at least properly enforce them. Yes Oz is under lockdown from delta but that didn't swim there either. That and the "schools are safe shur" carry on shows where governments heads were and are during this. Its pure and utterly incompetent leadership that still has us here a year and a half later |

Yes but if cases are 50,000 a day will their hospitals be able to cope |
