Somewhere in Co. Down |
I baked quite a lot years ago but just don't seem to have the time or inclination to anymore even though home baking tastes so much better.
So I guess I'd pick cooking over it nowadays. |

I much prefer cooking, suits my imprecise style. I can bake a few set pieces that I have practised many times - black forest brownies and pineapple drizzle cake being my go tos. But cooking just seems more intuitive to me and a lot less mess most of the time |

I love both but better at cooking
Baking is a science......wrong measurements and wrong type ingredients it will not work
Cooking you can add or leave out ingredients to suit your tastes and still turn out |

"Any good books for starting off with baking??"
Start off with something classic…any book from Mary Berry/Paul Hollywood/the Hairy Bikers/Rachel Allen.
There’s also some fantastic baking blogs including Irish ones.
Sugar Geek Show is a particular fav…her double choc chip cookies are epic! |

"I have never done either and no interest in doing either but as long as it's dairy free I'll apply to be the official fab taster.
You’ve never cooked anything? "
Pasta, spuds and anything that will fry in a pan. If it requires an oven then no. |

When the Irish chat room was going strong a few years ago this was a standing joke. Then I’d an impromptu meet with someone who chatted in the room for ages and the challenge was me baking |
