So ive heard a few stories about local tales they may be.Oxford Island..Craigavon Lakes..Are they true and comment below if have had past experience.Thanks in advance and have a great weekend. |

Yes it's true. They really are man made They were created during the early 1970s when an area of low-lying, poorly-drained land was excavated to create the two lakes.The South Lake was designated to act as a balancing lake, releasing rainwater collected into Lough Neagh.
There are lots of lovely birds at Oxford Island and it's a great place for watersports too.
