I paid €330 and €340 with Aviva over the past 2 yrs. They always come good with quotes. I find brokers expensive so best advice I can give is juat do a trawl of the Internet for quotes

I actually saved money on car insurance this year couldn't believe it. There is supposedly a reputable company called footprint yes that's the actual name that might be worth a look.

Hmm was with Aviva until about 8 years ago when they started screwing me. That's a good price ^^

I’ve trade policy , as I’m a mechanic so I’m covered to drive anything, for work and social purposes, €1800 last year, due next month now and looking like I’ll have to pay about €2400

Doing it through campion, it’s not really a special broker but not all insurance companies do it!

123 are only going up and up I've found. They pobably should rebrand and call themselves 789 by now. I left them this time and went with AIB because they were the cheapest I could find and there was no extra charge for paying monthly over a lump sum. First time I ever paid monthly but no penalty so why not.

Insurance is high on older cars, probably be cheaper with a new car but I like having a diesel

Ridiculous it is... once a car is NCT’d, in a road worthy condition I think the insurance should be the same no matter what the year.... a two year old car could be abused and not in as good condition as one that’s 12 years old and well maintaned!

The Land of Make Believe

We were with Aviva for years. They just seem to increase the price each year. We changed to AXA this year and saved almost €200

Thanks! An Post cheapest so far and comparable with what I paid last year. It's painful companies don't try to keep customers and you have to shop and switch every year to save a price hike

Just renewed mine this week and got it cheaper than last year after phoning yo ask was the quote the best they could do as it has went up from last year.

It also helps to have another named driver for some reason so I still use my ex on the quote even though she never drives my car anymore. I'm sure plenty of people could add a friend as a named driver on the quote and see if it helps.

Just renewed mine 2 weeks ago, my renewal was over 500 but I got a new car and it came in a 497. I said is that the best you can do and ended up getting it for 440 so I was happy with that. That's with 123. Never pay the price they quote first.

Didn’t they change the guidelines for claims recently meaning the payouts won’t be as high thus reducing your insurance costs. Not that the insurance industry are going to follow through with it anyway.

Just renew both our cars. We’re with Aviva.

I find ringing them and asking for best quotes helps sometimes but we go have the 2 cars and house with them so get extra discounts

Best of luck

Can't for the life of me understand why insurance going up

Half of the country working from home, less vehicles on the roads =less accidents so on..

Is it a baby sitting service were paying for!

Had it all out with an agent when policy due for renewal on one car

They were coming in at 670€ fook I thought usually I just pay and go but this time put the brakes on..

Allianz in portlaoise came in at 400 + 40 admin costs.

Still pays to shop around and never stay with the same company too long.

Think I’m paying 600 with Allianz for a 201 Merc.

I rang them and said that another company had given me a lower quote so they matched it. Often if you ring and ask is that the best they will reduce it down! Brokers normally more expensive, remember my first ever insurance being 4,700 LOL
