I'll admit I no IT expert, but when has lack of expertise ever stopped someone in the internet giving an opinion, so I think hacking HSE might actually be a bit easier as you have some many staff members who could possibly make a mistake to make a hack possible. |

"Of course they can be hacked! Just don't put personal identifying information up if you're worried. " yes I thought that, no l have nothing personal on it, was just a thought, possibly more worrying for people on the site without their husband, wives, partners knowledge!!

For a relatively small site like Fab, I'm certain it takes is one absentminded employee to leave his laptop unattended, or a disgruntled employee to have all the data released to an open server.
All your private face pics, email address etc.
However, I have faith in the good of humanity, and couldnt imagine anyone would search through that data looking for nude pics of people they know, and share it around.

Hackers would have very little interest in an anonymous site like this; they would be most interested in acquiring a complete set of data about an individual: full name, DOB, address, phone numbers , email addresses, bank details, etc.
Essentially, they would want access to bank accounts, and such information is not accessible on this site, that is more likely to attract amateur hackers.
Large corporations are being hacked for their intellectual property; the old term for this being industrial espionage.
Organisations that are serious about hacking attacks have multiple layers of security, including honey traps, and many do not use windows operating systems which are particularly vulnerable.
Mac computers are based on an entirely different system that is more secure.
Foreign government sponsored hackers are primarily interested in acquiring mitary intelligence or being able to sabotage their targets' infrastructure, especially nuclear power stations or nuclear processing facilities.
A small site, whose members are anonymous is a worthless target for hackers. |

"Any site, account and IT system can be hacked."
That's my take, online works in both directions.
Everything you put on the Internet is vulnerable to exposure. Part of the reason we don't have facepics on the site. |

Yup I had to fill in a supplier form yesterday to get paid by a governmental body. With all these hacking stuff in mind it didn't feel great to provide my bank details plus to answer a plethora of questions that aren't necessary to make a single bank transfer.
