Sitting on a Saturday over a late breakfast and thinking, what an odd world this is in fab. You message, you chat, you hope it ends with you in the sack with someone you fancy or maybe not. Getting the leg over is the ultimate goal. Or is it ?? Is it also about friendships, connections, like minded folks ?? I enjoy the chase but I've always enjoyed the forums and made great connections here.
Atm I miss story's about the Ma and the cat that craps in the slipper, I miss the cool wisdom and observations of an intelligent female, I'm miss song lyrics and 1st person narratives, I miss the more controversial posts. As Dylan said "the times they are a changing" is this welcomed change or no ? Feel free to share your thoughts. Answers on a postcard please

I miss them too and think the forums have lost some of the sparkle due to their departures.
I also think its a crying shame that I've had to rewrite this a couple of times so I don't suffer the same fate |

Could it be that the people who made it interesting for you guys have left, and now its you who are the more experienced posters.
Feel free to correct me, i'm only new on here and everything is fresh so I am enjoying the forums, some funny stuff and some good flirting....
But as with everything it can easily be improved

They really have gone downhill of late with the exception of a few who really do make an effort to add a little spice/laughter to the place and I tip my hat to those individuals because without them it begins very impersonal and dare I say it boring. So it's worth thinking about and to encourage those ppl rather than letting the frustrations of lockdown and covid creep in and take over what is a good group of heads. |

There has definitely been a big lull in the forum's the last while and it's been a lot less fun. Even fun threads can turn into something else. I don't think covid can be completely to blame tho there seems to be a undercurrent on here recently and even if people are having a joke and a laugh you can get grief over it. Sometimes it's just not worth posting on here due to that.
But then it tends to be like that there are lulls and then it picks up again and I'd great craic for a while which makes the lulls more tolerable. There's a lot of people who use to post on here no longer doing so and that can take away from the amount of threads also as others don't most as much.
I don't know I just hope it picks up soon there are still a lot of people on here that I enjoy interacting with . |

The forum has had many a face lift over the years from kinglim taking on Jj post for post (blow for blow)to the rise and demise of the king with many and varying personalities along the way.
We miss them for awhile but then some fresh meat will fill their shoes, while we still chat to them in PM time heals and the forum will rise again.
There are rules to be adhered to and interpreted by the many however the interpretation by the glitterati is the one that is imposed like it or not, its not a glamorous job but none the less a job that has to be done for the most it works well there was no promise of equality or fairness on the header page when we signed up however a more open appeals tribunal would be a progression in the right direction.

Look alot of people's minds are taken up with that thing thats happening.
It's stressful, it's divisive and it's going on for fucking ever. It has taken its toll on everyone and dominated alot of the narrative on here directly and indirectly.
The forum has always had ups and downs as a whole and for each person individually.
I personally have seen green shoots of fun and mature conversation springing up recently so here is hoping we have gotten over the worst of it |

I think we’ve been spoiled the last few months. There was a small number of people who did the majority of the heavy lifting when it came to keeping the forums a bit of craic
But it’s a communal thing so everyone will have to pitch in to the get the forum lighthearted again. |

As another member of the naughty step brigade. The craic has definitely gone out if the forums over the last few weeks with the departure of a few good contributors . They have left a big void to fill, so its upto ourselves to put the fun back into the forums. Maybe try and be a bit nicer to the newbies on the threads instead of taking the p. |

I've always seen fab as much more than getting the leg over and have always done my best to contribute to the forums.
This time last year I was organising photo challenges and starting new fun threads at least a couple of times a week. It was great being able to express myself and let others see my sense of humour as much as anything else.
It's very easy to blame covid for sucking the fun out of the forums but there are many other reasons.
As has already been said, rules are not here to be broken. They are put in place for a reason and if people insist on joining a site and then spend their time whinging about rules and continue to walk the tightrope they can't really complain when they suffer the consequences regardless of who they are or how long they've been here.
The backbiting and behind the scenes networking is the real reason for all the recent turmoil as well as personality clashes and grown adults regressing to playground games and seeking to find offence in every comment.
As others have said people come and go on here but if we really want to bring the fun back to the forums we need to get off the hamster wheel of finger pointing and harking back to the good old days and actually just get on with having fun and making fun.
To use an old Northern Ireland analogy we used to complain about the main protagonists having talks about having talks with the possibility of having talks.
Actions will always speak louder than words. |

I enjoy the forums and over the last year they have been a good distraction. There will always be lulls in the forums and I know I have been hesitant to post as sometimes it's just not worth the grief. The background playground bullying and talking about people behind their back is so childish and I don't see why people bother. We are not all going to get on thats part of life.
But way I see no one knows what's going on outside fab in people's lives and if here offers a distraction or gets people talking to each other its not all bad.
RB think you should do a photo challenge for us all as they are a laugh.

We miss them for awhile but then some fresh meat will fill their shoes, while we still chat to them in PM time heals and the forum will rise again.
There are rules to be adhered to and interpreted by the many however the interpretation by the glitterati is the one that is imposed like it or not, its not a glamorous job but none the less a job that has to be done for the most it works well there was no promise of equality or fairness on the header page when we signed up however a more open appeals tribunal would be a progression in the right direction.

I've got a funny post, I'm tempted to post it but I cant because it will get me on the naughty step or possibly banned.
Its a real shame as its a gag, nothing more, we are all adults...
It mentions the taking of drugs which got me the naughty step before, but its a gag, its not me advocating the taking of, its not me trying to sell, its not anything but a joke.
I get the rules, i get the rules have to be followed but those in charge dont have to be so draconian do they??
My last ban was because i mentioned drugs but it wasnt anything to do with drugs really it was a post about Dubs and the Culchies perception of them.
Maybe if those in charge of this part of the world were from this part of the world they might see that we have a different type of humour (some of the time) |

The forum banter, fun and flirting is a massive draw for me. The last few weeks ive been missing it that, with the tone change and loss of some main drivers.
I do think its a opportunity for others to ease into it though and as poster above said - made feel welcome. I remember when i first joined in it was with some trepidation as it seemed everyone knew each other and had a flow going so it does take some courage to take part, i was made to feel welcome though and as I said have really enjoyed the banter here and met some cool people. |

"I've always seen fab as much more than getting the leg over and have always done my best to contribute to the forums.
This time last year I was organising photo challenges and starting new fun threads at least a couple of times a week. It was great being able to express myself and let others see my sense of humour as much as anything else.
It's very easy to blame covid for sucking the fun out of the forums but there are many other reasons.
As has already been said, rules are not here to be broken. They are put in place for a reason and if people insist on joining a site and then spend their time whinging about rules and continue to walk the tightrope they can't really complain when they suffer the consequences regardless of who they are or how long they've been here.
The backbiting and behind the scenes networking is the real reason for all the recent turmoil as well as personality clashes and grown adults regressing to playground games and seeking to find offence in every comment.
As others have said people come and go on here but if we really want to bring the fun back to the forums we need to get off the hamster wheel of finger pointing and harking back to the good old days and actually just get on with having fun and making fun.
To use an old Northern Ireland analogy we used to complain about the main protagonists having talks about having talks with the possibility of having talks.
Actions will always speak louder than words.
I enjoy the forums and over the last year they have been a good distraction. There will always be lulls in the forums and I know I have been hesitant to post as sometimes it's just not worth the grief. The background playground bullying and talking about people behind their back is so childish and I don't see why people bother. We are not all going to get on thats part of life.
But way I see no one knows what's going on outside fab in people's lives and if here offers a distraction or gets people talking to each other its not all bad.
RB think you should do a photo challenge for us all as they are a laugh.

We miss them for awhile but then some fresh meat will fill their shoes, while we still chat to them in PM time heals and the forum will rise again.
There are rules to be adhered to and interpreted by the many however the interpretation by the glitterati is the one that is imposed like it or not, its not a glamorous job but none the less a job that has to be done for the most it works well there was no promise of equality or fairness on the header page when we signed up however a more open appeals tribunal would be a progression in the right direction.
I had forgotten about Lim! He was a big part of the forums back then, bring back The Lion i say, he was great entertainment I remember him the lion he had a great body if my memory serves me correct so many of the past forums users sadly gone
Omg I had forgotten all about the Lion,
I met him for a cuppa tea!
Lim was a brat, but absolute great great craic
They were two big personalities but two lovely guys. I only had the pleasure of meeting Lim and he was great fun.
