"A mixture of Aldi and the farmers market / bartering our own eggs, cheese, and milk"
The farmer's markets in Dublin tend to be semi professional and not really farmers
Is it different in Fermoy |

"Local butcher for meat and eggs"
Visit your local butcher when you can folks, it might be a bit more expensive but it usually tastes a whole lot better than the meat at the big supermarkets.
You will be sorry when the little shops are gone!! |

Lidl for most staples and the odd strange find here and there that always ends up in the trolley, Tesco if we need a quick flit or M&S for their boa buns, fruit and frozen cookies if you haven’t tried the frozen bake at home cookies get on that shit asap |

"I love lidl but I’d go to Aldi if it ever came to Northern Ireland (from the republic originally so missing all the Aldi knock offs )
No aldi in NI ...i wonder why "
Saturation. They made the decision themselves because of the number of other supermarkets already supplying a small customer base. |

Usually Lidl or Tesco's.
I refuse to shop in Sainsbury's as a matter of principle.
One of their stores here used to have the highest turnover of any of their stores in the UK for that size of store.
That was when there was an enormous cross border trade and especially in the run-up to Christmas.
However rather than employ additional staff for the Christmas rush they brought in staff from less busy shops in England and mostly Scotland and put them up in accommodation.
The local b&bs and hotels benefitted from this but no one else.
Part time staff therefore didn't get any extra hours as these were also given to the others to justify the expense. |

I have to say say Tesco did look after its staff here in Ireland during the whole Pandemic..we hit the 10% extra a week for the first lock down and then over Christmas we also got paid paid from day one if we had to self isola in stead of the normal 3 day for sick pay..we also get as bonus each year of 1.5 % of what we have earned in the year and yesterday we were told we will be getting 2.5% this year for our hard work..they also took on part time local people to help with the demand bit also gave the full time staff the option of the extra hours first.. |

I'm a Lidl girl. The bread counter is my lifesaver as I badly crumble when exposed to toast 'bread' over a too long period. Middle aisle offers much better than in Aldi and I love the continental country weeks with produce from Spain, Italy, Poland etc. |

Iceland for main shopping as I can get it delivered. The local fruit and veg shop when I get a chance and the butcher in local shop for meat and pop over there when I can't be bothered going farther into town to Lidl or Asda.
