Am i wierd or doing something wrong. A bowl of porridge does not power me til lunchtime, im barely at brunch time and hungry already.
Thoughts??
Personally I think Flahavans have peddled a myth of the power of porridge. Myth busted

Ok....that's weird. As I'm the same. Porridge with honey and nuts and berries. It's lovely but I might as well be eating fresh air. I could stick gold leaf on it but it's still the same. 90 mins later I'm starving again.
Like.. what the feck. I'm been sold a pup about porridge .
I've stopped eating it. Now i just use it dry as a face treatment. Mixed with horse hair and lard my skin is glowing. So it's not a total flahavens bust |

Oats are meant to be a great slow-releasing energy source, keeping you full for longer but like most others, they only seem to kick my hunger into overdrive so I tend to go with just a coffee until lunchtime. All sold a myth here unless you are meant to have a bucket of them |

If you are coeliac I know you can order GF pastry online but it does kind of take the fun out of it having to make it yourself |

True, at least gf options have improved on the savory side, most places seem to cater much better. I do absolutely empathise though, must be borderline torture on the sweet side |

It tends to be protein that keeps hunger off
Carbs often make you crave more
Eggs or cheese are often the key
But regarded as less healthy etc |

I seem to be the opposite to everyone else.
If I eat normal cereal or anything else really for breakfast I start crashing around 11am
Porridge and Im good to go until 2pm
I have to say though for the last couple of years I ate Quakers Oats, Ive tried Flahavans recently and wasnt really gone on them though they are nicer if you add water to them and leave them to soak overnight |

I was never a fan of porridge but got sick to the teeth of everyone telling me how great it was and how you won't even think about eating until much later. It was yuk... so I added banana honey( the real stuff not that shite made from Eu and non Eu countries) and also some chia seed for good measure and you know what...? It was still yuk. Porridge me arse ! So I swapped it out for some tasty scrambled eggs instead. Now I was still hungry a few hours later but at least it was a lot tastier and didn't sit in my stomach like a big lump of gooey... OK you get my meaning. The moral of the story is ...Flavins...? bite me you're out |

used to be a sausage and toast with butter in the morning man myself... always found the cereal thing in the morning, or porridge in the morning, a waste of time, like, I'd have to eat 1/2 a kilo to sustain me til lunch... |

Its not enough. I have a side plate of jumbo breakfast roll and I find that usually gets me to lunch.
Sometimes I don't even have the porridge and I'm good |

I'm the same and same with high protein meals. If I ate most of a full chicken with little carbs I'm starving very soon after but when I eat high carb meals I'm not. |

"I think I am the weird one then... My brekfast is only coffee and many times I also skip lunch... I then get hungry around 4-5pm.
If instead I get lunch, then I can wait up to 10pm for dinner "
This is me too. If I have a good lunch I might not have dinner at all. And a latte is breakfast whatever the situation. |
