Was driving home from work this morning and got to thinking of all the concerts Ive been to over the years. Been lucky enough to see Eagles, Queen, Bowie, Rolling stones and lots more. So I picked the best, the worst and most surprising. Heres my 3
Best..Springsteen( born in usa)
Worst.. Simply Red @ Wembley
Most surprising.. Neil Diamond, fantastic catalogue of music and had the arena hopping from start.
Whats your 3. |

Have only been to 5.
Springsteen in the RDS twice. First time was the best.
Wet wet wet was just so so but Bryan Adams in Belfast was brilliant.
UB40 however was by far the worst.
Lucky enough to see The Hothouse Flowers in a small venue with only 40-50 people there and that was amazing. |

Best: Metallica at Marley Park in Dublin and Lamb of God at Mandela Hall in Belfast (lost mosh pit, crowd surfing and wall of death virginity all in one night)
Worst: Gallos Cooper (Alice Cooper tribute) at Limelight in Belfast. Sound was shit and he sounded fuck all like him.
Most Surprising: ZZ Top at Download Festival. Three guys in their late 60’s who can still pump a crowd of 70,000! |

Since I work over a hundred concerts a year my memories are completely different to most but musically one concert captured the spirit of the people of Ireland more than any other gig I've ever worked
85'000 people all enjoying themselves,no hassle from anyone towards security and a joy from start to finish
Coldplay Croke Park

I see Coldplay in croke park has been mentioned that was one of the most phenomenal concerts I've been to. I have a few that matched that too . Bon Jovi AC DC The rolling stones etc
My 2 worse were Brittany spears I still can't believe I went and it has to be Oasis in Landsdown Road as they kept arguing on stage. |

Most surprising: Bobby McFerrin at the Montreux Jazz Festival, it was fab.
Most disappointing: Deep Purple - it got cancelled.
I can't really rank any of the others as best, they're all lovely memories. |

Best: The Prodigy - Glastonbury 95. Because the timing was perfect for me as a rebellious teenager and was total dance-punk.
Surprising: Aerosmith 2017 3 Arena - was like walking into the set of Wayne's World.
Worst: Paul Simon / Sting 2015 (I think) 3 arena. These guys were well past their best unfortunately, and I've been waiting to see Paul Simon my whole life. Disappointing. |

We'd struggle to put a "Best" concert, but we saw Slipknot in Dublin, and 5FPD with Megadeth in Amsterdam just before lockdown, and they were awesome nights.
Only band I've found disappointing was Def Leppard a few years back in Belfast. Supported by Alice Cooper though, and he was ace.
Oh, and Volbeat walking off stage after 30 seconds sucked.
Most surprising? We saw In This Moment support Halestorm a few years back. Was looking forward to seeing them live, but the stage show was just incredible.. Felt almost a religious experience...
Can't wait to get back to gigs again....

I've been only 2 concerts in my life time shocking I know lol
My 1st was Justin Timberlake featuring Timbaland and 50cent at the RDS
My second was Sam smith at the 3 Arena
My 1st was the worse because I realized near the end I was positioned at the back of the stage instead of the front I was wondering why there were more screens on my side than the other
Seeing sam smith was the best there is no denying that this man can really sing excellent performance |

Saw Christy Moore in UCC years ago and the power went. It was a small intimate venue and he did the last 40 minutes without power... Remember it to this day. Saw Chris Rea in London in 96 and it was poor but I'd say. Elton John in Madison Square Gardens was the best ever even though I'm. Not a fan of his |

Saw Elton John in Wembley years ago. It was a double concert with Billy Joel. Joel pulled out last minute, so Elton came on ,explained that Joel was sick and that we would have to put up with him for 4 hours. Great show and entertainer. |

That's a real shame about Foo Fighters. We saw them at Newcastle a few years back and they were excellent. I suppose they have their good days and their bad days. |

Best were Bruce in the RDS in 2009 (second night)
David Byrne in Manchester 2018
Radiohead in the Point (2003 or 2017)
REM in Marlay park 2003
Feist in Brussels 2018
U2 in Croker for the Joshua tree 2017
David Bowie in the Point 2003 (last Irish show)
Worst was Bob Dylan in the Point 2009. I adore Bob and knew he was shit live but just went to tick him off the list.
He didn't disappoint.
Most surprising was Cliff Richard in the Point around 2007 (I used to work there.) The man was well aware of his naff reputation and was absolutely hilarious about it. |

I got dragged to a Cliff concert on the RDS back in the nineties. I hate Cliff Richards and all his later christian/religious shite so I was dreading it. I can't recall if he sang any of that stuff but if he did, it wasn't much of it. At one point though, his band left the stage and he sat at a mic with an acoustic guitar and sang away on his own. He was quite brilliant although I'd still put my boot through the radio if he came on. |

Best; Inxs, Wembley Arena ..kick tour.
Most surprising; Billy Joel, very funny, true entertainment.
Worst; Little Green Cars ( Apples chose, however she spent the whole concert with her hands in pants, so it kinda made up for it...that night we ended up in the Venue(the pre cursor to the vanilla club for the first time)...so maybe not the worst night.
Most disappointing; We've had tickets to Duran, Duran for 18 months...
