Roll your eggs...

A lot of talk over the weekend about egg hunts.

Am I the only one who never heard of these until a few years ago?

I definitely didn't do them as a child and they weren't a thing when my kids were growing up either.

An English friend told me about them just 6 or 7 years ago and I presumed they didn't exist here.

The only Easter egg tradition I remember was painting hard boiled eggs and rolling them down a hill.

Somewhere in Co. Down

Nope never had them as a kid .A few friends children have done them in the last 10 years or so .

The most we ever did was paint an egg in school that was about it really.

Nothing to do with America for once, it's an old German tradition, going back nearly 600years.

Same here. I was about 6 or 7 when we started doing them.

Wow, interesting. I don't think I heard about it until the 90's and did it for my crew but had to really supervise it as any hunt for chocolate in my house gets super competitive

Yes we did the whole painting hard boiled eggs and rolling them until they smashed. Then you got to eat them with salt and grass

But we also had our chocolate eggs hidden to find on Easter Sunday morning, so maybe we exported it to the USA 40years ago?
