Who was your favourite teacher in school
Mine Mr Blackwell, in Geography.
He was so laid-back and easy-going.
Wouldn't have swapped him for all the tea in Denmark. |

Mine was a hunky fresh outta college newbie when I was in LC year. He was perfection and I was horny and frustrated! It was torture!! I’d love to see him now and see was he really hunky or was it just the foggy mist of teenage hormones! |

Mine were both female teachers. One language, one history. Both absolutely beautiful and sexy buuuut they genuinely were two of the best teachers in school too. |

My Irish teacher was pretty hot though she was also crossed eyed (no joke) so when she'd give out to someone the person sitting next to them would ask " who... Me Miss"? |

My LC honours maths teacher was probably the only good teacher I ever had, most of them were people who appeared to have given up years ago and were just going through the motions. |

My Latin teacher, who was also my netball coach, and my biology teacher. Both brilliant teachers in so many ways. I don't think I had any that I actually disliked though apart from my P3 teacher in primary school

Can't even remember the name of one
School doesn't hold happy memories
Back then some male teachers could really go too far with young girls without fear of reprimand and it was OK to use blackboard erasers for target practice |

Latin was my favourite subject. I used to take extra Latin books home over the weekends to translate for fun

I went to a CBS and Latin wasn't taught at all.
I studied history to o level and Irish history wasn't taught either.
My English teacher was the only one I actually liked.
My art teacher would be arrested now for inappropriate behaviour if he was still alive and teaching. |

I had a history teacher in my secondary school that started the year I started . Good looking but real upbeat even though I hated the lesson I enjoyed his teaching. Funny enough a few months ago I had a look at the school website, he’s still there and is now the principal

Back in primary school. Low babies as it was called then. 40 boys in a prefab School room. Too nervous to raise your hand to go to the toilet in the first couple of days. Boys wet their pants. When this happened you were made go to the bathroom and change into a plaid dress and then stand at the back of the room as a punishment. And yes it really happened.
Big school. Secondary. Maths teacher. He made you believe you could connect the dots. He never called kids out or shamed them. He just found a way to unlock a kids potential. During class or after hours at maths club.
The moral to the story. There are good people and there are bad people. And both can end up as teachers or other professions. A good teacher will stay in your memory forever and how they unlocked your potential as he did to me. When I remember him I remember him as a person. Not his profession. But him...What a cool person. |
