Very moving....
Where was the beach where paul McGrath was...?
Recall being in a golf club house in Scotland on a particular day 15 years ago..
Group of guys at a table behind me didnt pay them much attention...
But one voice seemed familiar...
Then someone said what did you think of liverpool"s win last might jack (day after the euro win)...the penny dropped whose voice had been familiar..
So sad to see how he deteriorated in that time.
Great strength from his wife.. |

Very good to see the light being shone on it and the people involved.
Brings it home much better than others.
I say this as someone watching my Dad going down the same path unfortunately but my kids, his grandkids, make it much happier.

Just finished watching it. Very emotional but still fills me with pride.
As a Leeds supporter he was always a hero but what he did for this country just added to his aura.
As for Paul McGrath, what a double act with the gaffer. |

The scene when he recognised Paul and smiled was just heart breaking
Then some of the other stuff was brilliant...the old fashioned baths after the match and having a smoke while training |

I was in Florida in 1994 & staying near Ireland team base & watched the team having fun under Big Jack.
I am friends with a few players in team & they told me Big Jack had them booked into Water Park at Kissimmee so I took my girls along to meet them all & get shirts signed.
This was 2 days before Italy game and all the players were having fun in pool and on slides etc whilst Big Jack was sat under an umbrella smoking a cigar.
It was so surreal when they travelled up to New York that night and went onto beat Italy but that was Big Jack for you....God Rest Him |
