So a year to the day that the gig industry just stopped in Ireland
We had 2 nights of The Script and then Steve Martin ,doors closed and lights turned off.
The Script were full of Italian rugby fans who travelled anyway even though their rugby match against Ireland was cancelled
It was my first time ever seeing customers wearing masks and we were amazed to be honest.
I remember leaving work thinking a wave of the virus would sweep the country and then we'd all be immune and that we'd be back for the summer gigs
We were all looking forward to Rammstein in Belfast
We all hugged and said see you in a few weeks
Now we enter the second year of no live music and the hospitality industy
( and others ) is decimated.
Hopefully for not much longer and in the words of another band
Things can only get better
Hopefully any gigs you booked go ahead later in the year

We had booked to see the Coronas last May, was deferred to this May, obviously that won't be happening either. Had a trip to London booked with my daughters last Easter, haven't managed to get a refund on the theatre tickets yet.
I'm not booking anything in advance right now - especially if it has to be paid in advance, if we get a chance to go somewhere/attend an event, it will be a last minute thing. |
