We've read already about the coffee and home made hot apple tart with custard brought by a kind lady to her date. You need to stand out from the crowd so what will you bring as a gift? All amazing ideas folks
I think it's a nice idea. As I said on the other thread, one lad (now a friend) brought mugs with his own drawings of my pink shoe and J's boot printed on them. A lovely thought and I'm now reminded of him when I see the mugs in the cupboard. Kids think we won them in a raffle |

It is really depends. In the past I always brought some handmade sweets, an exotic plant, bottle of wine
I think when meeting so great personalities like Mr Bog M, SeanBelfast or Kaizer (that would be really challenging as he is meat eater!) I would bring something unique, they never get a chance to eat plus a bottle of whiskey limited edition

I agree Casey plus someone giving me gifts the first time I meet them would make me feel awkward almost like more is expected .It is different if it is someone I know well or if I was going to someones home .But I'd never go to someones home on a first meet made that mistake once and never will again . |

Was brought a lovely bottle of wine by a meet last year and a bottle for my birthday night out aswell as a few other gifts and cards. Totally unexpected but those people have great kindness and I still have those cards now. They are friends now |

I buy my round pay for dinner hell even pay for the room but trying to think what I could buy to impress a woman doesn't come in to it

I rarely if ever bring gifts when visiting friends or family and would never consider it on a fab meet.
I know lots of people who always turn up with cakes and bottles of wine etc when they visit and I don't give them much credit for those as they know I can't eat the cake and I don't drink so it's just done out of habit and to make them feel better.
Fab gifts especially from or for someone I don't really know or I'm meeting for the first time just wouldn't sit comfortably. |

Depends on the build up and conversations shared before meeting. Like certain interests may have been shared as in any normal conversation so a small gift that fits in with that might be suitable or thoughtful. |
