There's no hard ( no pun intended ) and fast rule. There can be many influencing factors - alcohol, drugs, emotional baggage, physical issues etc. If it was a simple issue of attraction there would be no need for treatments, such as viagra, to assist sufferers.

Its more the duration of maintainjng hardness than the levels of initial hardness one would think.

I think of it as an arousalometer.The more aroused I am the harder. During a session there will be many levels of arousal. Attraction is a part of that. I was axtually disappointed big time... Not too.much with my self about 50/50. But I felt kind of unclean or something and just not good. Which in a sense did feel physical.
