So listening to the radio coming in to the office this morning and 2 absolute tunes one after another on the radio and it got me thinking
Is there 1 song that brings you back to a time in your life where everything was just simpler and a bit of craic??
For me it’s American Pie (not the horrid Madonna version) and it brings me back to a holiday in Portugal when I was in my late teens which was 2 weeks of boozing and having the absolute craic singing along to American Pie in Taffys Bar |

That song reminds me of two hot summer weeks in my late teens when I travelled to the south coast of the uk to do a language course with a few hundred sexually charged students. That and GnR were all we had to listen to all week |

As an 18 yr old on holidays on my own in Castlegregory on The Dingle peninsula in 1983
The pub had a pool table and a jukebox and I played this song constantly which pissed off everyone else as they all played Thriller
The Police...wrapped around your finger

What I call "Station Wagon" songs. This shitty Station Wagon we had as a kid with one Country and Western tape. The likes of Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Kenny Rogers takes me back to the rare days that the auld lad wasnt being an absolute prick and would bring us on Sunday trips. |

Footloose, it's the first track on some 80s compilation cd, me and the lads went on a drinking marathon abroad in the 90s, turned it on every morning (by accident) hungover psyching ourselves up to start again. |

I went to Portugal the day after Oasis releases "Be her now" I bought it and recorded it on to tape to bring with me. Its first proper airing was by the pool on a sun lounger. Will never forget that one. |

Taio Cruz - Dynamite. Every time I hear that I’m brought back to a nightclub in lanzarote in 2010 with some topless lad from Mayo screaming MAYOOOO to the tune of the song
But In general every single song will bring back a memory |
