I block anyone I message that reads and doesn’t reply. There’s no point in wasting time on them. I block people who are rude to me. I block people that don’t read my profile before sending me random friend requests or stupid messages. Its not like I don’t welcome people but there is a line. |

I never block anyone or should I say it would have to be an extreme extreme case for it to happen.
I think it's a really bad sign of this era. Like that black mirror episode around it (no spoilers). |

Admins advice is just block back and report them which i will do from here on in myself. I have 5 on my list because they were being nasty on messages and wouldn't stop messaging. |

Couple of hundred on ours to due a wide variety of infractions including (but not limited to):
Rude messages.
Crude messages.
Repeated friend requests (without any other engagement).
Constant page lurking without engagement.
Forum posts that would indicate that we are not ‘likeminded’.
We’ve been blocked a few time and doesn’t bother us. They would have had a good enough reason and absolutely their prerogative

Just rechecked i have only 4, I am a forgiving person and always unblock and give people chances. I think it tells alot about personality, live and let live i say , 2 of which i have been advised to block back by admin. |

I've blocked people we haven't engaged with for sure. Usually because of a status update or forum post that has clearly indicated we're not compatible, or that leads me to believe they're not particularly nice people.
Some that are blocked without any interaction have had the block put in place by admin.

I have loads of people I have never personally interacted with on my blocked list....
They might have said something I found completely against my beliefs or been extremely disrespectful on the forum.. loads of reasons...
I have too much going on in life to keep track of everyone so blocking makes remembering I dont want to interact with someone easier |

You can still see their forum posts so that threads are still readable chronologically.
I've a few on mine, some for being cunty on forums, some that I know I wouldn't be compatible with due too status updates; sectarian or hate speech may be not be a technical breach of rules but is a quick way to a block and the odd fantasist. |

I block people I know I am not attracted to, or that they have something in their profile description that doesn’t interest me. Not because they have done anything wrong or I am judging them, its just to make my time on the site more efficient.
Equally if I have messaged them and they have either not replied or deleted the message, I know I am not for them so no point in keep seeing them pop up.
Blocking someone means they will no longer come up in searches, appear on local updates etc so by doing so, I am more likely to see people I am interested in. |

People will block for various reasons even if you think it’s not justified or haven’t even spoken to them . It’s there profile if they trigger happy blocking let them off says more about them than you. |

Blocking is for loads of reasons yes if people are rude or constantly annoying but its also if you know you have nothing in common or would not ever consider meeting them then a block saves both wasting time. |

I've been blocked when I had my last profile here and met people at gatherings, and I knew who they were.
They said they never seen me on fab, I said you did.
I mailed you with a civil mail saying hello and you blocked me for no reason.
Then I just get back to business and don't bother entertaining the person who wants know more about me, I politely just say enjoy your evening,see you around.
I'd never block anyone unless they were rude or uncivil.
As for the original poster, if I was a red blooded hot woman is be jumping on your profile...
You rock dude..
There's plenty of nice women here who don't block people for no reason.... |

Just wondering would that limit your understanding of the world to block anyone that doesnt share your beliefs. I say that as a previously very opionated person hahaha. . I also say it as someone who has changed there beliefs. I find very ridgid beliefs always a danger.

They probably not doing themselves any favours but for me its easily to block ppl who maybe the profile doesn't sit right with me or they are simply 5ft tall and my 5ft10 wouldn't go well for some of the positions I wanna try!! Ppl who right stuff like "they are bored" "need a shag" "who's meeting" kinda puts me off! I wanna feel special is that too much to ask haha I know am no oil painting but I'd like meaningful conversation with ppl and make friends before anything else happens xx |

And even if you meet someone like that I just think it's sad for you that you see the world like that, maybe help them see it differnt. But doing that on fab can be a waste at times hahah
I hate to mention JRE on fab but I am a long time listener. He had a guy Daryl Davis on that is a Black musician probably in his late 50s early 60s and he de-radacalized like over 250 KKK members. Some are his friends now. That's a very Intresting podcast. |
