As mentioned it is undeniable that some put 'straight' on their profile because they don't want to exclude themselves from couples/women who prefer not to meet bisexual men; which is a preference like any other and ought to be respected as such.
While that can then raise the question of honesty and ethics I do find myself uncomfortable when "Fab straight" is mentioned, even when it is tongue-in-cheek.
There's also undeniably some who genuinely, mentally, struggle with understanding/accepting their own sexuality and while it may seem silly that it's just a different box to tick on your profile it can be a bit more than that if you don't have that certainty within yourself.
Bisexual women are openly sought after for the most part whilst, not completely, bisexual men aren't and in some cases are the brunt of jokes; Fab straight being a new label to deal with.
Whilst I agree that preferences are just that and should be respected maybe a bit more sensitivity and understanding towards subversive shaming, for lack of a better term, of bisexual men would allow for more to identify with who they really are.
There are filters in place to stop messages if it annoys you or is simply your preference. Sorry to go off on one, Ohpee, it's just a pet peeve of mine  |

I get that.. But if a guy feels they are bi sexual then is it better they put that on their profile and let themselves open to critism for not being genuine? OK.. It reduces their chances here but those that they do meet are exactly what they were looking for. The wasn't any ridicule intended or any type of homophobia.. If a guy is bi then just say so or write it into their profile. |

I came out so to speak as bisexual and not bi curious a few months ago on a thread
I was trying to be honest and all I got from people in the forums was good wishes
I've never been slagged over it ( sheep yes ) on here so genuinely don't see any problem with what I am.

I was told I'd have more chance of meeting if I was bi and would improve my chances even more if I could bring a sexy woman as well. Very strange as they approached me and not the other way around. |
