I remember the knock on the door on the morning after while we were glued to the rte news
The Guard with the red teary face that was working all night asking my mum and dad for a photograph and leaving to go back to the mortuary
It wasn't my brother thank God
RIP to those that never came home |

"Watched a clip on newstalk during week and was in tears, all them families effected and still noone held responsible for such a tradegy. "
Terrible tragedy and not sure who they want to hold responsible??
Perhaps the owners of the venue as they had fire escape doors chained shut with padlocks or the person who started the fire.. Most likely a cigarette butt |

Who said I was shit stirring? .. Please don't assume rubbish like that.. I want to talk about the facts... Keep your personal feelings out of this as they don't trump my rights to have an objective discussion |

Well then state the facts
The fire was not started by a cigarette butt either by accident or maliciously
The chains across the door was just criminal
One good thing that came out of this wad all the new fire regulations that hopefully insures something like this never happens again

A store room that broke all regulations at the time
Even the Dail record has been changed
Google it ...the arson excuse was used over the years because working class people must be blamed and the owners get compensation
After the deaths the survivors and the families all say that the arson excuse is the thing that causes most pain

Such a sad situation that has touched many lives! let's be mindful at this difficult time that we don't want to cause harm to anyone with words and opinions! let's be empathetic to those people who have unhealed wounds from that time.my thoughts are with you all. |
