Sorry to be a party pooper but I hate Valentines with a passion. J knows never to buy me anything that day, it's just commercial rubbish. Be romantic a different day and I'll appreciate it all the more - Mrs

Can always remember one year being skint

So brought her on a "nice picnic" & cheap bottle of wine.

Didn't end up on the couch that night. Woo Hoo!!

I’m with you. If asked what I’d like it’s “do the dishwasher without being asked”. Reduction of the mental load.

Funny when you think back its hard to think of a nice one

I remember mostly queueing outside bad restaurants in Dublin city centre in the 80's as you couldn't book

An hour queue to get in,rubbish food and rushed out again to fit more customers in for another setting

Only decent time was when I got a car so you could stay outside in the suburbs

Blakes stillorgan was great for that

I'm with you there as I much prefer a blow job than a dozen red roses any Valentines Day

Walking past Apache, and the dude randomly gave me a free pizza. I guess they had an extra one for some reason.

Anyway, I clipped the pizza box to my bike carrier, but it slipped out the side, and plopped upside down on the pavement.

I picked it back up, and went home alone to eat crunchy pavement pizza.

Sounds like my typical Valentines... I like to go for the low hanging fruit.

It couldve been the year i was working til 9pm and going home to a lonesome house but i dropped in to Lidl just before they closed and they were giving the roses away to customers so i ended up finishing a lousy day with an unexpected armful of flowers and a very warm heart!

There were two guys that sold them in the clubs I worked in. Nigel (I think) and Michael. Michael would put on a fake French accent and wear a tuxedo. He was lovely. Jaysis that’s 25-30yrs ago.

Well now that's perfectly acceptable as long as you like to give at least as much as to receive ...

... like most guys here say they do

Being with my younger sister in the hospital. Her daughter was born a few minutes after midnight. Unforgettable moments!

St Valentines day is very commercial now but I remember the days as a teen it was nice to get a card at school or by post from unknown person.
