Never heard of it before I posted the Gardai one
I think its uplifting and cheerful and usually watch it once a day
There's a few on youtube of little black kids doing it and they're incredible
I think there's a diff between videos that are original and ones where the same people try to go viral every week which is a bit forced

"Suppose it's a bit like that ice bucket challenge of a few years back.. Seems some silly phase appears and everybody jumps on it.. "
Except some "silly ones" make a huge amount of money for charities that didn't have a big profile
No harm

Well this is.. Who would have thought pouring a bucket of water over your head would raise so much money for charity |

"The ice bucket challenge was unreal fir fundraising. So are groups raising money from doing the jerusalema dance or is it just for the craic?"
I don't think its for the "craic" it's raising morale and maybe just bringing a smile to people's faces and let's be honest the scenery in the garda one is unreal. |

Not on my radar. If you like it then good for you. Personally I couldn’t care less about any of the whole social media things. Great if they raise money and that.
More appropriate would be people not acting like tears tho. You’ll get the usual hypocrites loving the videos for clout and disregarding personal responsibility
If you take it for what it is without agenda, then it does no harm |

We are social animals, as an introvert I recognise that I have less need of social participation than many do, I'm not sure describing them as sheep is necessary, any more than I really consider myself to be a dryshite |

Ah the old sheep comment because someone doesn't like what others do.
I watched the one where the link was posted here it was okay didn't think it was amazing but others did and what harm if people get a enjoyment out of it and it makes them smile for a few minutes there's no harm in it. |

Try reading my comment again perhaps in reference to dryshites, apart from the fact that it was aimed at those who ,like myself, don't "get" the trend, it should have been obvious that it was tongue in cheek. If you enjoy something, have at it,and don't seek to take offence so readily |

"Begs the question should people even be gathering in groups to do the dance considering covid "
So far as I understand it, the emergency services are operating in shift bubbles anyway, realistically speaking. Presumably the rules with regard to congregating outdoors still pertain for others. |

"God forbid the essential workers arent allowed bit of fun they all deserve sumthing to lift the spirits and if people cant see that then ye are selfish people but theres is plenty like that !!!!"
Would it be considered selfish for 'essential workers' to gather putting them at greater risk of contracting covid just to keep up with the last gang of dancers... see RNLI had to contact their personnel to Advise against it as it put their responsiveness to call outs at risk |

Why has social distancing concerns all of a sudden crept in they are cleary doing that they are simply lifting the spirits if it isn't someone's cup of tea then that's fine we all have our likes and dislikes let's respect that |

Yeah heard about the bubbles at work. Typically though the general public on seeing and trying to replicate their own group dance in communities up and down the country as is happening may not be as careful and put the good work of those essential workers under even more pressure. |

Yes but why make the comment. As I said there's threads on superbowl was there a following sheep comment posted there. Way I see it if you have nothing nice to say don't say it . If half the people seen some of the crap and awful things our emergency services deal with daily they would give these people a break. From suicides to deaths, to car crashs, to neglect to abuse to assaults etc. |

I think fair play to everyone who has done it, it's on my to do list, the world is full of Hitlers, let people live and have a bit of fun, if it's not on duty and putting peoples lives at risk by doing so, why not? Keep it up i say, keep smiling, the world is dull enough as it is in the current times. |
