Back in the day  (pre lockdown days)
...when you could go out for a drink and then end up anywhere in the country to arrive home a few days later
How did it start? 
...Where did it end up? 
...and what made it memorable/crazy?

Aw man... I had some amazing nights out in Kilkenny. I’d get the train down with a friend.. have pints in Billy Byrnes on arrival, then go get shower and changed wherever we were staying, head back out for dinner, then more pints then dirty Lanigan’s for mad dancing and way more pints. Train home the next day.
Bloody brilliant.
I’ve a girlie night agreed for after Covid with a fab friend... can’t wait!!! |

Far too many.Stag do in an unnamed european city on the 2nd night.I stepped out for a smoke.Puff.....i come to 3-4hrs later in the middle of a main road.2 police cars behind with hands on guns."Senìor....you are walking in the middle of the road"

Pre drinks before heading out, tipsy reaching the nightclub, dancing, the last two to leave, no taxis so we decided to hitch a lift lost a shoe looking worse for wear and a truck driver stops, climbing into the cab now that was fun, really nice guy great night |

NYC - 1995 - Hogs n Hefers biker bar ... pure dive frequented by bikers and bankers... (movie coyote ugly was based on this bar.... shite movie... awesome bar).
Following day made it back to the hotel that I was meant to be at... pre mobile phones... friends saw me leave with a lady I was dancing with... yup.... knew I’d turn up eventually to make sure not to miss the lift home... That was a crazy one. |

Ended up hitching to Kilkenny to see a band many years ago on a Saturday hitched back home a lot worse for wear in the early hours of Monday morning. Thanks to a milkman and 2 truck drivers we still got home on time just to go to work. But was well worth it.

Yeah great bar.... 7 of us got "asked" to leave.... Great night all the same even if 1 of the lads got knocked out later in the night an ended up in hospital |

As a 17 yr old I used to go on holidays on my own around Ireland with just a haversack and small tent
One night i was in a pub in Kerry and two sisters took a shine to myself and another bloke
They invited us back to their house so we walked for a few miles in lashing rain until we got to a small harbour where we got into a rowing boat and rowed across to an island with the rain still coming sideways
We got to the house and their bedroom was in the garage attached to the side and we snuck in so as not to wake the parents
We all stripped out of our wet clothes and got into the double bed
So 4 of us in a bed wet and cold so we sort of paired off and cuddled and kissed...no condoms in those days and no plan to be honest
The couple next to me started riding so i turned my back to them towards the other girl and we started kissing and after what felt like seconds i heard a shout of I'm cumming and he withdrew and we both took friendly fire all over us 
Really annoyed and fed up and since it was so late we ended up falling asleep
Next morning snuck out rowed back and fell asleep in my tent still pissed off
I was due home that weekend and missed the train from Tralee and thats how I ended up in the pub....but the train crashed in Kildare and 7 people died
My parents spent the next day searching hospitals and my dad was asked to try to identify some dead people in case I was one of them as they knew I'd be on the train and phones didn't exist
So while I was sleeping they were having the worst night of their life while I was having a crazy time |

Too many to mention but will give 2 true instances.
No.1. 1980’s Christmas started drinking at 10.00am in factory where I worked in Sligo Town. Left there and drove 30 miles to do a job in another factory. Left there and went with a friend to the local pub had a few drinks then drove back to Sligo. Few more pubs visited then drove to Strandhill to nightclub. Disco in one side of club and U2 playing in other side. My friend even got on stage and sang with the band. We were the last patrons to be thrown out at 3.45am. We were so pissed that it took the two of us to drive the car back the 5 miles back to Sligo at about 15 miles an hour. Not something to be proud of but it was some night.
No. 2 When living in Enniscorthy around 1991 I attended a 30th birthday BBQ. It was on Holy Thursday night. At around 3.00am it was decided by a group of us that because there was no pubs opened in the morning (being Good Friday) we’d go to Rosslare and get the ferry to Fishguard. What a trip ... a six pack of Guinness and a fry up for breakfast. Asked to leave a pub in Fishguard because we were too boisterous in our singing so hit the next pub until it was time to catch the next ferry back to Rosslare. |

There's a certain country musician that travels to our part of town before I met JR....anytime he was around there were life changing in moments....1st left the hubby...2nd....slept in nettles....3rd a donkey with a hat took up residence outside my home!!! Should I continue |
